Know Your Squad - Chennai Super Kings IPL 2018

One of the most successful teams of the Indian Premier
League decided to go for more experienced and renowned
players this time in the IPL auction.
Their strategy on the first day of the auction was surprising as
majority of the players they purchased were above the age of
30 but Day 2 was completely different, as they purchased
Mark Wood, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar (in very good
form) and Lungi Ngidi, thereby strengthening their pace
attack. Their spin department will be led by Ravindra Jadeja,
Harbhajan Singh. Faf du Plessis at 1.6 cr was a steal.

Batsman- Suresh Raina, Kedar Jadhav, Ambati Rayudu, Sam
Billings, Dhruv Shorey and Chaitanya Bishnoi
Wk- MS Dhoni and Jagadeesan Narayan
Allrounders- R Jadeja, DJ Bravo, MK Singh and Kshitiz Sharma
Spinners- Karan Sharma, Imran Tahir, Harbhajan Singh and
Michael Santner
Fast bowlers- Shardul Takur, Deepak Chahar, KM Asif, Kanish
Seth,Lungi Ngidi and Mark Wood
Probable Playing X1
Shane Watson, Faf Du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Kedar Jadhav,
M.S.Dhoni (wk)(c),R Jadeja, DJ Bravo, Harbhajan Singh, Imran
Tahir, Shardul Thakur, Mark Wood.

If Shane Watson didn’t fire in the top order, then he will be
replaced by Murli Vijay and his role will be changed to a
finisher.
Similarly if Kedar jadhav isn’t in a sublime form, then Dhoni
will look for Rayudu to replace him.
The same goes for Lungi Ngidi in place of Mark Wood.
