SSA teachers ‘celebrate’ Eid at Pratap Park in protest
JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Hundreds of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers on Saturday on eve of Eid day staged a sit-in at Pratap Park in Srinagar to press for their pending demands.
The aggrieved SSA teachers are demanding the release of their pending salary as per 7th pay commission and delinking of their salary from MHRD budget.
“We are demanding implementation of 7th pay commission. We have been given every benefit since our engagement in the department and now how can the government deny benefits of 7th pay commission,” the SSA teachers said.
The protesting SSA teachers also held funeral prayers in absentia for slain journalist Shujaat Bukhari at Pratap Park.

SSA teachers hold protest ,threaten to lock down schools if demands not met
JAMMU LINKS NEWS | A massive rally of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and General Line Teachers was organised in north Kashmir’s Kupwara on Saturday against the government for failing to fulfill their demands. The protesting teachers threatened to lock the schools from 11th of June till 13th if their demands of de-linking their salaries was not fulfilled and salaries were not regularized.

Srinagar-Jammu highway closed due to landslide
JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Fresh landslide in Udhampur district forced the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Monday.
A Traffic Department official said no traffic would be allowed on the highway following the landslides that occurred on Kheri road in Udhampur.

Terrorists abduct Pulwama man from his residence, cops find his bullet-riddled body in nearby fields
JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Terrorists on Monday barged into the house of a resident and abducted him in Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place in Pulwama's Murran. This incident took place on Sunday night.
