Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was born on March 27th, 1886 in Aachen, Germany. He was an architect. He was regarded as one out of three pioneering masters of Modern Architecture. Van der Rohe sought to establish a completely new architecture style to represent modern times. Today it's his 126th Birthday, and Google celebrates this day with a special Doodle.

It shows a picture of one of the mature buildings he made, the "Crown Hall", located at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

He used modern materials just like industrial steel and also plate glass. His style is associated with the aphorisms "less ist more" and "God is in the details". Ludwig Mies van der Rohe died on August 17th, 1969 in Chicago.

    Erwin Schrodinger's 126th birthday is the subject of Monday's Google doodle in select countries across the globe. The doodle depicts Austrian physicist's famous thought experiment, Schrodinger's cat, and a quantum mechanics equation.

    Erwin Schrodinger was born on August 12, 1887 in Vienna, Austria, to Rudolf Schrodinger and Georgine Emilia Brenda. After being tutored at home, Erwin Schrodinger studied in Vienna under Franz S. Exner and Friedrich Hasenohrl. By 1911, he was assisting Exner.

    He also enrolled in military service for a period of four years after writing his thesis and achieving habilitation. After several stints at universities in Jena, Stuttgart, Zurich and Berlin, Schrodinger decided to leave Germany and became a Fellow of Magdalen College at the University of Oxford. After that, he also had a stint at Princeton University. He returned to Austria in 1936 and took a position at the University of Graz.

    Erwin Schrodinger's political stance lead to problems with the German university and fled to Italy with his wife. He moved to Dublin, Ireland in the same year and stayed there for 17 years, before returning to Vienna in 1956.

    In his early years, Erwin Schrodinger worked in the fields of electrical engineering, atmospheric electricity, and atmospheric radioactivity but he's renowned for his work in quantum mechanics

    Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn's 407th birthday is being celebrated by Google through a doodle featuring his self portrait.

    The self portrait or 'Self-Portrait with Beret and Turned-Up Collar' was made by Rembrandt in 1659. It is an oil on canvas painting and a celebrated work of the painter. The painting has been preserved in the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC (US) since 1937, where it's part of the Andrew W. Mellon Collection.

    Rembrandt van Rijn is known as one of the greatest painters in Europe and Dutch Republic (Netherlands). The period when he contributed to art, is known as the Dutch Golden age which was known for its cultural achievements.

    Art connoisseurs of the 20th century claimed that Rembrandt had made more than 600 paintings, about 400 etchings and 2,000 drawings, though modern day findings under Rembrandt Research Project mentions that he had done about 300 paintings. Among these, 40 paintings are said to be self-portraits. His work runs across the themes of portraits, landscape and narrative painting. His paintings featured rich detail, and depicted religious themes as well. Some of his greatest works include The Abduction of Europa, Judas Repentant, Returning the Pieces of Silver, The Artist in His Studio, Cottages before a Stormy Sky, The Three Trees, and The Night Watch, among several others.

Among his most famous title sequences are the animated paper cut-out of a heroin addict's arm for Preminger's The Man with the Golden Arm, the credits racing up and down what eventually becomes a high-angle shot of a skyscraper in Hitchcock's North by Northwest, and the disjointed text that races together and apart in Psycho.

    Bass designed some of the most iconic corporate logos in North America, including the AT&T "bell" logo in 1969, as well as AT&T's "globe" logo in 1983 after the breakup of the Bell System. He also designed Continental Airlines' 1968 "jetstream" logo and United Airlines' 1974 "tulip" logo which became some of the most recognized airline industry logos of the era. Google honored Saul Bass by featuring him in a Google Doodle on May 8, 2013.
