JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Weeks after the fall of Mehbooba Mufti government, Union minister Jitendra Singh today said BJP has set an example by breaking its alliance with PDP without any pressure as discrimination with Jammu region was not acceptable to the party.

He said the decision of the BJP has baffled the opposition parties in Jammu and Kashmir which have never witnessed such a thing in their political history.

BJP is the only party which can become part of any government to carry forward developmental agenda or can break away if it is not satisfied with the pace of development works It is not acceptable to the BJP to stay in power while compromising with the interests of the people of Jammu region, he said.Watch BJP has set example by breaking alliance with PDP over discrimination against Jammu: Jitendra Singh With HD Quality

    The BJP has pulled out of its alliance with Mehbooba Mufti's People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir.
    "It has become untenable for the BJP to continue its alliance government in Jammu and Kashmir, hence we are withdrawing" BJP general secretary Ram Madhav said.
    The BJP leader went on to add, "Terrorism, violence and radicalisation have risen and fundamental rights of the citizens are under danger in the Valley. Shujaat Bukhari's killing is an example.

    We have decided that it is not possible for the BJP to continue in the alliance government in Jammu and Kashmir. Restoring peace in Kashmir and encouraging fast development in Jammu and Kashmir, these were the objectives that we joined with PDP.

    Terrorism, violence and radicalisation have risen and fundamental rights of the citizens are under danger in the Kashmir valley. Despite support from the Central govt, PDP failed to control the situation.

    We even appointed an interlocutor for the state to talk with all the stakeholders. The central government has done whatever the state government sought.

    Keeping in mind the larger interest of India's integrity and to bring the deteriorating situation in the state under control, it would be apt to hand over the governance to the governor of J&K.
