Matdata Mahotsav: Celebration of Democracy: 30 minute movie

Matdata Mahotsav (‘Grand Celebrations of the voter’) was the tribute by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to the enlightened voter of the country.
The four-day gala festivities were organized in the heart of Delhi –The Central Park of Connaught Place at New Delhi, from 14th January to 17th January paving way to the National Voter’s Day on 25th January 2016. Matdata Mahotsav celebrations witnessed the participation and inclusion of common man based on the theme of NVD 2016 - 'Ínclusive and Qualitative Participation'.
Numerous event involved citizens from all walks of life especially women, youth, defence personnel, NRIs, persons with disabilitiy and the marginalised sections.
With the motto 'No voter to be left behind', Matdata Mahotsav aimed at reaching out to greater number of people and directly engaging with them for lasting and continuous impact.
Matdata Mahotsav hosted the exhibition displaying the good practices on various aspects of election management through interactive models, presentations and exhibits. The exhibition with international participation from seven countries as well as all states and union territories of India displayed the 'Best practices' in the field of voter registration, voter education, security management during elections, manpower and election material management, expenditure control during political campaigning etc.
