Unprecedented enthusiasm was witnessed at the rally in Bandipora which was addressed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi as part of her campaign for J&K polls. Large number of women attended the rally. Sonia Gandhi and Congress leader Ambika Soni were accompanied by former chief minister G H Nabi Azad and Saif-ud-din Soz. People were chanting slogans in favor of local Congress candidate Usman Majeed.

Elections are taking place at a time when you have faced a natural disaster (floods). It does not feel good to talk politics (but) the relief and rehabilitation work is going on a very slow pace."
