IPL 2021: 5 Indian Cricketers Who Might Be Playing Their Last IPL Season
Several players have continued playing in the IPL even after announcing their retirement from international cricket. However, there comes a time when players have to retire from T20 leagues like the IPL as well. Thus, in every season we see several cricketers announcing their retirement from the cash-rich T20 league.
Similarly, there’s a huge chance of seeing a few Indian cricketers on the field one last time in the second half of IPL 2021. So which are those cricketers who in all likelihood, will be playing their last IPL?
It is safe to call Robin Uthappa an ‘IPL Great’. The wicketkeeper batsman has been playing the Indian T20 league since its inception in 2008. He has played for as many as six franchises.
However, his most prominent stint has to be with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) from 2014 to 2019. He was absolutely sensational for them as he went on to win the Orange Cap in 2014. Coincidentally, KKR also happened to win the title in that season.
Post 2019, he represented the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2020 and is now with the Chennai Super Kings. He is already 35 and might just announce his retirement. Besides, he’s yet to get a game for the Super Kings and was warming the bench for them in the first phase of IPL 2021.
While Kedar Jadhav may not be an IPL legend, he’s surely an underrated player. He has played several match winning knocks in his IPL career. After a steady stint with the Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) he was purchased by Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
He had a good season in 2017 as he was one of the positive aspects in a rather dismal season for the franchise. He was then picked by the Super Kings in the 2018 auction for a hefty amount. He was superb in the season opener before getting ruled out of the tournament.
After two underwhelming seasons in 2019 and 2020, CSK decided to release him. He now plays for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and wasn’t a regular feature inBy CricTracker | 789539 views

Though the dates are yet to be announced, as per reports, the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to get underway from the first or second week of April. Before the tournament starts, India have managed to give rest to eight out of the 10 players, who have been living in the bio-secure bubbles since the 2020 IPL, which started on September 19 in the UAE.
The T20I squad for the series against England was announced recently and barring Washington Sundar and Rishabh Pant, the other eight players would get a decent break before the IPL starts. On Saturday, March 27, Jasprit Bumrah was released after he submitted a personal request. Bumrah won’t be a part of the fourth Test, starting March 4 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
As per Indian Express, the players were given the option to rest before the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the T20I series. In fact, the members of the squad were educated about the mental health risks while living in the bio-secure bubble. The workload management also meant that India rested Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj from the T20Is.

Australian Cricketers Confirm Their Availability For UAE Leg Of IPL 2021 & More Cricket News
The second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to commence on September 19 and the BCCI seems to have solved the problem of the availability of the overseas players. After England, now even most of the Australia players are also available for entirety of remaining 31 matches of the season. As many as 20 players from down under have been signed this season to play in the IPL.
Reportedly, Cricket Australia (CA) has left it to the players over travelling to the UAE to participate in the T20 extravaganza. And most of the players seem interested to play. Interestingly, all the IPL-bound players opted out of the West Indies and Bangladesh tours. Among unavailable, Pat Cummins has already that he and his wife are expecting their first baby and he might not feature in the IPL this season anymore.
Moreover, according to Telegraph, Steve Smith and Marcus Stoinis have confirmed their availability. Both of them play for the Delhi Capitals. Nathan Coulter Nile and Chris Lynn of Mumbai Indians and Glenn Maxwell of Royal Challengers Bangalore will also play the rest of the season.
It is understood that There is still uncertainty over Sunrisers Hyderabad opener David Warner returning to the IPL this year and the same is expected to get clear in the next few days. He was axed from SRH captaincy just before the league was suspended due to COVID-19 cases inside the bubble. The team didn’t do well in the first half under his captaincy and was even dropped soon. Kane Williamson took over the mantle of the side.
Meanwhile, the foreign flavour of the IPL is intact now with almost all the overseas players set to be available. England cricketers were not expected to play after the board’s managing director of cricket Ashley Giles had cleared that they would honour bilateral commitments. However, the postponement of their tour to Bangladesh mutually by the two boards opened the door for players to play in the cash-rich league.

Steve Irwin a.k.a The Crocodile Hunter was born on 22nd February 1962 to wildlife experts Lyn and Bob Irwin in Essendon. Steve has been working with crocodiles from the age of 9 under his father's guidance. He rose to fame due to his hit Television Show - 'The Crocodile Hunter' which aired on Australia TV in 1996, which he co-hosted with his wife Lyn Irwin.
