    भगवान श्री महाकाल ने अपनी प्रजा को नौ रूपों में दर्शन दिये। भाद्रपद माह के प्रथम सोमवार को भगवान श्री महाकालेश्वर की सवारी में रजत जडित पालकी में श्री चन्द्रमौलेश्वर, हाथी पर श्री मनमहेश, गरूड़ रथ पर शिवतांडव, नन्दी रथ पर उमा-महेश, डोल रथ पर होल्कर स्टेट के मुखारविंद, बैलगाड़ी में श्री घटाटोप स्वरुप, श्री जटाशंकर रूप, श्री रुद्रेश्वर स्वरुप, व नवम सवारी में रथ पर श्री चन्द्रशेखर स्वरुप में विराजित होकर अपनी प्रजा का हाल जानने नगर भ्रमण पर निकलें।
    नगर भ्रमण पर निकलने के पूर्व मंदिर के सभामंडप में हुवा श्री चन्द्रमोलेश्वर का पूजन

    बाबा महाकाल की एक झलक के लिए असंख्‍यक श्रद्धालु हुए आतुर

    श्री महाकालेश्वर भगवान की नवम सवारी बड़े धूमधाम व उल्लास के साथ श्री महाकालेश्वर मंदिर से सायं 04 बजे नगर भ्रमण हेतु निकली | नगर भ्रमण पर निकलने के पूर्व श्री महाकालेश्वर मंदिर परिसर में कोटितीर्थ कुण्ड के पास स्थित सभामंडप में श्री महाकालेश्वर मंदिर के सभामंडप में भगवान श्री चन्द्रमौलेश्वर का षोडशोपचार से पूजन-अर्चन कर भगवान की आरती की गई। पूजन-अर्चन मुख्य पुजारी विनीत गिरी जी महाराज, मदनलाल ललावत आदि ने भगवान श्री महाकालेश्वर का पूजन -अर्चन किया और आरती में सम्मिलित हुए। आरती उपरांत भगवान श्री चन्द्रमौलेश्वर ने पालकी विराजमान होकर मंदिर प्रांगण से नगर भ्रमण हेतु प्रस्थान किया।

    रजत पालकी में विराजित भगवान श्री चन्द्रमोलेश्वर जैसे ही मुख्य् द्वार पर पहुचें, सशस्त्र पुलिस बल के जवानों द्वारा श्री चन्द्रमोलेश्वर भगवान को सलामी (गार्ड ऑफ ऑनर) दी गई।


    भाद्रपद माह के प्रथम सोमवार (नवम सवारी) पर भी भगवान की सवारी के दौरान पूरी नगरी शिवमय हो गई। भक्‍तगण बाबा महाकाल की एक झलक पाने के लिए उत्‍सुक थे। सवारी मार्ग में स्थान-स्थान पर खडे श्रद्धालुओं ने जय श्री महाकाल के घोष के साथ उज्जैन नगरी के राजा भगवान श्री महाकालेश्वर पर पुष्पवर्षा की।

    श्री महाकालेश्वर भगवान की पालकी श्री महाकालेश्वर मंदिर से गुदरी चौराहा, बक्षी बाजार, कहारवाडी होते हुए रामघाट पहुंची, क्षिप्रा तट रामघाट पर श्री चन्द्रमोलेश्वर व श्री मनमहेश का मॉ क्षिप्रा के जल से अभिषेक पूजन किया गया।
