A group of Gau Rakshaks attacked five cow traders in Alwar in Rajasthan on Saturday. The victims had gone to the cattle fair to trade cows and buffaloes when they were chased and assaulted by the self-proclaimed cow vigilantes.
Out of the five men, Pehlu Khan, 55, a resident of Haryana, succumbed to his injuries. According to the police, the assailants affiliated with Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal stopped the vehicles, alleging that the traders were transporting cattle illegally.

The terror of cow vigilantism that has spread across the country in the past few years, has now reached Delhi. Late on Saturday night, vigilantes attacked three cattle traders in Kalkaji in South East Delhi. The most shocking aspect of the case is that the police filed a case against the three injured cattle traders but it didn't make any progress in nabbing the people involved in the attack even 24 hours after the crime.

The case has been filed under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act on a complaint filed by an NGO People For Animals (PFA) that is associated with Union minister Maneka Gandhi. नागपुर में आज विजय दशमी के अवसर पर संघ मुख्यालय में समारोह का आयोजन किया..इस अवसर पर संघ प्रमुख मोहन भागवत ने हथियारों की पूजा की...इस दौरान कार्यक्रम को संबोधित करते हुए भागवत ने सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक को लेकर इशारों इशारों में मोदी सरकार की तारीफ की...भागवत ने कहा कि "हमारे शासन ने पाकिस्तान को अच्छा जवाब दिया। शासन के नेतृत्व में हमारी सेना ने साहस दिखाया। कश्मीर की उपद्रवकारी शक्तियों को उकसाने का काम सीमापार से होता है, ये बात किसी से छिपी नहीं है।" भागवत ने कहा, 'मीरपुर, मुजफ्फराबाद और गिलगिट-बाल्टिस्तान समेत सारा कश्मीर हमारा है. पाकिस्तान कश्मीर में अलगाववादी ताकतों को बढ़ावा दे रहा है. साथ ही इस दौरान भागवत ने गौ रक्षकों का बचाव भी किया...उन्होंने कहा कि असामाजिक तत्वों और कानून का पालन करने वाले गोरक्षकों के बीच अंतर को समझा जाना चाहिए... पवित्र मानी जाने वाली गाय की रक्षा कानून के दायरे में ही की जानी चाहिए, और वे गोरक्षक, जो ऐसा करते हैं, एक महत्वपूर्ण समाजसेवा कर रहे हैं. प्रशासन को ध्यान रखना होगा कि कुछ लोग ऐसे होते हैं, जो असामाजिक तत्व हैं, और कभी गोरक्षक नहीं हो सकते... उनके ज़रिये बेवकूफ न बनें... उन लोगों तथा गोरक्षकों में फर्क होता है... उन्हें एक साथ जोड़कर नहीं देखा जाना चाहिए...।
