    സൈനക്കും സിന്ധുവിനും പിന്നാലെ ലോക ബാഡ്മിന്റണ്‍ കോര്‍ട്ടുകളില്‍ വുജയക്കൊടി പാറിച്ച്‌ മലയാളിപ്പെണ്‍കുട്ടി അശ്വതി പിള്ള.ഒളിമ്ബിക്‌സില്‍ സ്വര്‍ണ മെഡല്‍ നേടിയ ആദ്യ മലയാളിയായിരിക്കുകയാണ് തക്കല സ്വദേശി അശ്വതി പിള്ള. 2018-ല്‍ ബ്യൂണസ് അയേഴ്സില്‍ നടന്ന യൂത്ത് ഒളിമ്ബിക്സിലാണ് അശ്വതി ബാഡ്മിന്റണ്‍ ടീമിനത്തില്‍ സ്വീഡനുവേണ്ടി സ്വര്‍ണം നേടിയത് . മേളയില്‍ രണ്ട് ഇന്ത്യക്കാരാണ് ബാഡ്മിന്റണില്‍ സ്വര്‍ണം നേടിയത്. ലക്ഷ്യസെന്‍ ഇന്ത്യക്കായി യൂത്ത് ഒളിമ്ബിക്‌സില്‍ ആദ്യമായി സ്വര്‍ണം നേടിയ താരമായപ്പോള്‍ സ്വീഡനുവേണ്ടി കോര്‍ട്ടിലിറങ്ങിയ അശ്വതി മലയാളികള്‍ക്കും അഭിമാനമായി.കന്യാകുമാരി ജില്ലയിലെ തക്കലയ്ക്കടുത്ത് ഇരണിയലില്‍ മലയാളികളായ വിനോദ് പിള്ളയുടെയും ഗായത്രിയുടെയും മകളാണ് 18-കാരിയായ അശ്വതി. ഒന്‍പത് വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോഴാണ് അശ്വതി മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം സ്വീഡനിലേക്കു കുടിയേറുന്നത്. പിന്നീട് അണ്ടര്‍-13, 15, 17 വിഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ ദേശീയ ചാമ്ബ്യനായി.ആദ്യമായാണ് ഒരു ഇന്ത്യന്‍ വംശജ സ്വീഡിഷ് സീനിയര്‍ ബാഡ്മിന്റണ്‍ ടൂര്‍ണമെന്റില്‍ ജേതാവാകുന്നത്.2012-13 മുതല്‍ സ്വീഡനിലെ മികച്ച ബാഡ്മിന്റണ്‍ താരം എന്ന ബഹുമതിയും അശ്വതിക്കാണ്. കഴിഞ്ഞ ഫെബ്രുവരിയില്‍ 17-ാമത്തെ വയസ്സില്‍ സ്വീഡിഷ് നാഷണല്‍ ചാമ്ബ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പ് വിജയിക്കുന്ന പ്രായംകുറഞ്ഞ താരമായി മാറി അശ്വതി. സ്വീഡിഷ് എലൈറ്റ് മത്സരങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് യോഗ്യത നേടിയ പ്രായംകുറഞ്ഞ താരമെന്ന റെക്കോഡും സ്വന്തമാക്കി. സ്വീഡിഷ് നാഷണല്‍ അക്കാദമിയിലും ടാബി ബാഡ്മിന്റണ്‍ അക്കാദമിയിലുമാണ് പരിശീലനം. ഇന്തോനേഷ്യന്‍ കോച്ചിന്റെ കീഴിലാണ് സ്റ്റോക്ഹോമില്‍ പരിശീലനം. ദിവസവും മൂന്നരമണിക്കൂര്‍ പരിശീലനത്തിനായി മാറ്റിവയ്ക്കാറുണ്ടെന്ന് 12-ാം ക്ലാസുകാരിയായ അശ്വതി പറയുന്നു. ബംഗളൂരുവിലെ പ്രകാശ് പദുക്കോണ്‍ അക്കാദമിയിലും വര്‍ഷത്തിലൊരിക്കല്‍ ഒരു മാസത്തെ പരിശീലനത്തിനെത്താറുണ്ട്.അച്ഛൻ വിനോദ് പിള്ളയ്ക്ക് ബംഗളൂരുവിലായിരുന്നു നേരത്തെ ജോലി. അശ്വതി നാലാം ക്‌ളാസ് വരെ പഠിച്ചതും അവിടെയാണ്. പിന്നീട് വിനോദ് ഐ.ടി. കമ്ബനിയില്‍ ജോലി കിട്ടിയശേഷം സ്വീഡനിലേക്കു കുടിയേറുകയായിരുന്നു. കുടുംബസമേതം അവിടെയെത്തിയതോടെ മകളെ അവിടത്തന്നെ ബാഡ്മിന്റണ്‍ പരിശീലനത്തിന് അയയ്ക്കുകയായിരുന്ന
