    పంట పొలానికి ఏర్పాటు చేసుకున్న నీటి కుంటలోకి దిగిన ముగ్గురు విద్యార్థులు ఊపిరాడక మృతి చెందిన సంఘటన ఆదివారం మధ్యాహ్న సమయంలో చోటుచేసుకుంది.

    వివరాల్లోకి వెళితే ఆదివారం సెలవు దినం కావడంతో
    కొందరు విద్యార్థులు ఆటలాడుకుంటూ గ్రామ సమీపంలోని ఓ రైతు ఏర్పాటు చేసుకున్న నీటి కుంట వద్దకు వెళ్లారు. అయితే, నీటి కుంటలో దిగిన ముగ్గురు విద్యార్థులు ప్రమాదవశాత్తు మరణించారు.
    మార్కాపురంలోని ఓ ప్రైవేటు విద్యాసంస్థలో 6వ తరగతి చదువుతున్న 11 ఏళ్ల కొత్తపల్లి శివ, స్థానిక మండల పరిషత్ ప్రాథమిక పాఠశాలలో 4వ తరగతి చదువుతున్న 9 ఏళ్ల ఆరవీటి ఏడుకొండలుతో పాటు 9 ఏళ్ల కొత్తపల్లి మను మృతి చెందారు. మృతులలోని ఓ విద్యార్థి కాలుజారి నీట మునగడంతో ఆ విద్యార్థిని రక్షించతానికి మిగతా మృతులలోని విద్యార్థులు కూడా జారీ నీటి కుంటలో పడి మృతి చెందినట్లు సమాచారం. అయితే అక్కడే ఉన్న మరో ఇద్దరు విద్యార్థులు ఈ విషయాన్ని సమీపంలోని గ్రామస్తులకు తెలపడంతో వారు వచ్చి నీట మునిగిన విద్యార్థులను బయటకు తీశారు.
    అనంతరం వారిని మార్కాపురంలోని ప్రభుత్వ వైద్యశాలకు తీసుకువెళ్లగా.. అప్పటికే మరణించినట్లు వైద్యులు ప్రకటించారు.

    విషయం తెలిసిన సబ్ కలెక్టర్, రెవెన్యూ పోలీసు, ప్రభుత్వ అధికారులు నీటి కుంటను పరిశీలించారు.
