SMC teachers of Himachal Pradesh demanding regularization have insisted on meeting CM Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. On Tuesday, he also refused to talk to State Education Minister Rohit Thakur. He clearly said that he only wants to meet the CM. Some teachers were even threatened with suicide if the meeting did not take place. The Education Minister also assured to consider the demands of SMC teachers, yet he did not agree. SMC teachers said that they will not move from there without meeting the CM.

Although the Sukh government of Himachal Pradesh has announced to increase the honorarium of SMC teachers by Rs 1900 in the budget, but these teachers are adamant on the demand for regularization. These teachers, who are sitting on fast outside the DC office in Shimla, say that the government had assured to make a permanent policy for them but no provision has been made for them in the budget. Therefore, they will boycott classes from February 19 and protest outside the assembly along with their families.
