    १९६२ च्या भारत चीन युद्धात चीन च्या ३०० सैनिकांना एकट्याने कंठस्नान घालून भारतीय सीमेवर चिनी सैनिकांना ७२ तास रोखून धरणारे रायफल मॅन जसवंत सिंग रावत यांचे ओतीव धातू शिल्प नगरचे शिल्पकार कांतु गवळी यांनी तयार केला आहे. हे शिल्प तयार करण्यासाठी कांतु गवळी याना तब्बल एक वर्षाचा अवधी लागला. लवकरच हे शिल्प पुणे येथील उद्योगपती मुजुमदार यांच्या भोसरी येथील आय ए आर बॉल स्क्रू प्रायव्हेट लिमिटेड कंपनीत आणि दुसरा पुतळा भारत चीन सीमेवर असलेल्या जसवंत सिंग यांच्या स्मृती प्रित्यर्थ बनविण्यात आलेल्या वोर मेमोरियल मध्ये ठेवण्यात येणार आहे.
    हे धातू शिल्प तयार करण्याचा मान मला मिळाला याबद्दल कांतु गवळी यांनी आनंद व्यक्त केला असून आपली शिल्प कला धन्य झाल्याचे त्यांनी म्हंटले आहे.
    सध्याच्या फायबर मोल्ड आणि ३ डी डिजिटल कॉपी प्रिंटरच्या जमान्यात ओतीव धातू शिल्प तयार करून घेण्याची ऑर्डर कलाकाराला फार क्वचितच मिळते. जगभरातील अनेक नामांकित कलाकाराच्या मालिकेत विष्णूजी मुजुमदार यांनी कांतु गवळी यांनी निवड केली. गवळी यांनी हे आव्हान स्वीकारून जसवंत सिंग रावत यांचा हुबेहूब पुतळा साकारून धातू ओतकामात हे कास्य शिल्प तयार करून घेतले. त्यांना यासाठी तब्बल ८० किलो मिश्र धातू लागला.
    या पुतळ्याच्या निर्मितीसाठी प्रथम त्यांनी माती शिल्प तयार केले त्यानंतर त्यावर फायबर मोल्ड टाकून फायबरचा पुतळा तयार करण्यात आला. नंतर हे शिल्प ओतीव कामासाठी पाठविण्यात आला . त्या ठिकाणी ओतीव काम करण्यासाठी ६ महिने लागले. सुरवातीला या फायबर शिल्पावर कौलांची माती कालवून त्याचा लेप लावण्यात आला . नंतर त्यावर विटाळावलेल्या मेणाचा थर लावण्यात आला . मेन सुकल्यानंतर त्यावर पुन्हा कौलांची लाल रंगाची मातीचे लेपन करण्यात आले . मग हा पुतळा भट्टीत टाकण्यात आला. त्याचे मेंन वितळवून जाळण्यात आले. मग मध्ये निर्माण झालेल्या पोकळीमध्ये विटाळावलेला मिश्र धातू ओतण्यात आला. नंतर पुतळा थंड झाल्यावर त्याचे फिनिशन कांतु गवळी यांनी केले.
    गवळी यांच्या या कलाकृतीचे कला जगतात विशेष कौतुक होते आहे.

    मुंबईहून पुण्याकडे येणाऱ्या मालगाडीचे नऊ डबे जामरूगं केबिन ठाकूरवाडी दरम्यान घसरले होते. यात मोठ्या प्रमाणात मालगाडीचे नुकसान झाले होत. मुंबईहून पुण्याकडे या मालगाडीतून गहू घेऊन जात असतानाच हा अपघात काल पहाटे चार वाजण्याच्या सुमारास झाला होता. मालगाडीचे एकूण नऊ डबे अपघातात पलटल्याने त्यातील गव्हाचे पोते फुटून मोठ्या प्रमाणात नुकसान झालाय. तसेच या भागात पडणाऱ्या मुसळधार पावसामुळे गव्हाचे अधिक नुकसान होऊ नये म्हणून तब्बल नऊ डबे (व्हेगन) गव्हाचे पोते मंकी हिल,जामरूगं, ठाकुरवाडी या भागातील कातकरी ,आदीवासी पाडयातील लोकांना रेल्वे प्रशासनाकडून वाटण्यात आले आहेत. घाटमाथा तसेच डोंगरदऱ्यांच्या रस्त्यातून गव्हाणे भरलेले पोते घेऊन जाण्यासाठी नागरिकांची चांगलीच धांदल उडाली आहे. अजूनही हजारो पोते गहू पावसात भिजत असल्याने मोठ्या प्रमाणात गव्हाचे नुकसान या अपघातांमध्ये झाले आहे.
