बेंगलुरु में मंगलवार को 'नम्मा मेट्रो' (बेंगलुरु मेट्रो) का एक निर्माणाधीन खंभा गिर गया। इस घटना में एक महिला और उसके ढाई साल के बेटे की मौत हो गई। वहीं उसका पति और एक अन्य बच्चा जख्मी हो गए। दरअसल बेंगलुरु मेट्रो के वास्ते कंक्रीट के खंभे को खड़ा करने के लिए की गई स्टील रॉड सेंटरिंग उनके स्कूटर पर गिर गई। खंभे की ऊंचाई 40 फीट से ज्यादा और वजन कई टन बताया जा रहा है। ऐसे में बड़ा सवाल यह है कि इस हादसे का असली जिम्मेदार कौन है? कैसे निर्माण स्थल के इतने पास वाहनों की इंट्री हो रही है। वहीं सुरक्षा के मानक शून्य हैं। बेंगलुरु में हुआ मेट्रो पिलर हादसा कोई पहला मामला नहीं है। इससे पहले दिल्ली और मुंबई में भी इसी तरह के हादसे हुए हैं। इसके बावजूद सुरक्षा मानकों से समझौता कर बेधड़क निर्माण किया जा रहा है।बेंगलुरु में एचबीआर लेआउट के पास आउटर रिंग रोड पर सुबह करीब साढ़े 10 बजे बेंगलुरु मेट्रो का एक निर्माणाधीन खंभा गिर गया। हादसे के बाद लोगों ने महिला (30) और उसके ढाई साल के बेटे को तुरंत नजदीकी अस्पताल पहुंचाया, लेकिन दोनों ने इलाज के दौरान दम तोड़ दिया। हादसे में घायल महिला के पति और दूसरे बच्चे की हालत स्थिर है। नम्मा मेट्रो और कर्नाटक सरकार ने प्रभावित परिवार को 20-20 लाख रुपये के मुआवजे की घोषणा की।
कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री बसवराज बोम्मई ने धारवाड़ में पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए घटना की जांच कराने और हादसे के शिकार परिवार को मुआवजा देने का आश्वासन दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि मुझे अभी इसके बारे में पता चला है, हम इसकी जांच कराएंगे.. हम खंभा गिरने के कारणों का पता लगाएंगे और मुआवजा भी देंगे। हादसे को दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण बताते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि जांच की जाएगी और जिम्मेदार लोगों के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज किया जाएगा।
मेट्रो निर्माण के दौरान बेंगलुरु की तरह दिल्ली में भी हादसे हुए थे। 12 जुलाई 2009 में दिल्ली के ईस्ट कैलाश के नजदीक जमरूदपुर में एक निमार्णाधीन पुल गिर गया था। इस हादसे में 5 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी जबकि 10 लोग घायल हो गए थे। वहीं 19 अक्टूबर 2008 को दिल्ली के लक्ष्मी नगर में भी निर्माणाधीन फ्लाइओवर गिर गया था। इसमें दो लोगों की मौत हुई थी। वहीं 10 लोग घायल हो गए थे।
