The Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) on Thursday decided to initiate action against owners of the abandoned vehicles. Speaking to mediapersons after the PMC meeting, Chairperson Ritesh Naik said before taking legal action, PMC will issue notices to owners who have abandoned their vehicles at prime locations. If they fail to respond then these vehicles will be seized and auctioned. Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik said that to solve the stray dog issue, the PMC is planning to construct a dog shelter near Curti where dogs will sterilised and called upon the pet owners to vaccinate their dogs with anti-rabies vaccine. To solve the stray cattle menace, he said that a goushala has been constructed at Bethora.
