Man paraded in skirt and garland of slippers for allegedly molesting a girl

A man in Karnataka was made to wear a skirt, garland of slippers, and shave off half his hair and moustache for allegedly molesting a girl. The accused, Shankar Rathod, was punished by a mob after he held his cousin’s daughter’s hand in a drunken state.

Rathod was paraded in skirt and garland of slippers from his home to the village square. Shankar and his cousin, Umaraj, have lodged FIRs of molestation and harassment against each other.

According to reports, the incident took place on 12 July but has been gone viral on social media recently.

    मंदिर में लोग जाते हैं, फूल, पैसा या फिर सोना-चांदी चढ़ाते हैं आपने भी चढ़ाए होंगे लेकिन क्या आपने कभी देखा है कि लोग चप्पल चढाते हैं। सुनने में अजीब लगता है लेकिन एक ऐसा मंदिर है जहां लोग मां को खुश करने के लिए चप्पल चढाते हैं। कर्नाटक के गुलबर्ग जिले में स्थित लकम्मा देवी के मंदिर में भक्त बडी संख्या में आते हैं, लेकिन उनके हाथ में फूल की जगह चप्पल होती है। वह मां को खुश करने के लिए ऐसा करते हैं। कहा जाता है कि ये एक ऐसा मंदिर है जहां हर वर्ष फुटवियर फेस्टिवल का आयोजन होता है, जिसमें अलग-अलग गांवों से लोग चप्पल चढ़ाने आते हैं। हर वर्ष ये दिवाली के छठे दिन मनाया जाता है। लोग मन्नत मांगते हैं और पूरा होने के लिए मंदिर के बाहर के एक पेड़ पर चप्पलें टांगते हैं। ऐसी मान्यता है कि चप्पल चढ़ाने से माता उनकी चढ़ाई गईं चप्पलों को पहनकर रात में घूमती हैं और बुरी शक्ति से उन्हें बचाती हैं। बताते हैं कि पहले यहां बैलों की बलि दी जाती थी मगर बलि पर रोक के बाद से ये परंपरा शुरू हो गई। यानी चप्पल की माला बांधने की परंपरा शुरू हो गई है। इस दिन के लिए लोग पूरा वर्ष इंतजार करते हैं। तो कभी आप भी कर्नाटक जाएं तो इस मंदिर के दर्शन जरूर कर लीजिएगा।
