Twenty-five-year old Bollywood actor allegedly committed suicide on Monday night by hanging herself at her Juhu residence.
Twenty-five-year old Bollywood actor Jiah Khan allegedly committed suicide on Monday night by hanging herself at her Juhu residence, police said. The police added her maid, watchman and neighbours are being interrogated to find out her last visitors.
"She had been depressed for some time due to personal issues, but was keen on returning to acting soon. She was also meeting filmmakers regarding projects," sources close to Jiah told Times of India.
The daily added that no suicide note has been found so far and the body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem.
Jiah had a fortnight back tweeted, "So sorry I have been off twitter! Took a bit of a break from twitter verse.. sometimes u need a sabbatical to recollect ur thoughts."
Jiah made her Bollywood debut in Ram Gopal Varma's controversial movie, 'Nishabd', where she acted opposite Amitabh Bachchan. She also got a Filmfare Best Debutant Nomination for
the movie. She also acted opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini and Akshay Kumar in Housefull, which was her last film.

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Jiah Khan of Nishabd fame allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence, according to a report published in The Times of India.
Indian police confirmed the suicide.
The 25-year-old actor reportedly hanged herself at her Juhu residence in Mumbai.
According to sources, Khan had been depressed for some time due to personal issues, but was keen on returning to acting soon. Moreover, she was also in talks with filmmakers regarding projects.
Jiah was raised in England, but later shifted to Mumbai with her mother. Also known as Nafisa Khan, the actress made her Bollywood debut in 2007 opposite superstar Amitabh Bachan in the controversial movie Nishabd. Later, she went on to act opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini and Akshay Kumar in Housefull.

Jiah made her acting debut in Ram Gopal Varma's 'Nishabd' where she acted opposite Amitabh Bachchan. The film released in March 2007 and received mixed reviews, but Jiah was noted for her confidence, attitude, and sex appeal. She also got a Filmfare Best Debutant Nomination.
She then appeared alongside Aamir Khan in AR Murugadoss's 'Ghajini', the Hindi remake of the director's own Tamil film of the same name.

Bollywood actress Jiah Khan committed suicide at her Juhu residence on Monday night.
The 25-year-old actor is learnt to have hung herself inside the house.
Jiah was brought up in England and had shifted to Mumbai with her mother Rabiya recently.
"She had been depressed for some time due to personal issues, but was keen on returning to acting soon. She was also meeting filmmakers regarding projects," sources close to the actress said.
Also known by the name Nafisa Khan, the actress made her Hindi film debut in 2007 opposite Amitabh Bachchan in the controversial Nishabd. She also acted opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini and Akshay Kumar in Housefull.
Police sources said that the incident happened at about 11pm and no suicide note was found. The body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem.
Tanuj Garg of Balaji telefilms and friend of Jiah said, "We knew each other socially and often discussed our London connection. She was a soft-spoken, sweet and a pleasant individual. Truly shocked at the news!"
Amitabh Bachchan, who heard of the news online tweeted, "-WHAT ...!!! Jiah Khan ??? what has happened ? is this correct ? unbelievable !!!"

Actress Jiah Khan commits SUICIDE in Mumbai Home
Bollywood actress Nafisa alias Jiah Khan, who was seen opposite Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Nishabd’, committed suicide at her residence in Mumbai’s Juhu area, police said Tuesday. She was 25.
The Britain-born actress was found hanging at her flat in Sagar Sangeet Building in the posh Juhu area of northwest Mumbai around midnight. The cause of the suicide is not yet clear, police said, adding that autopsy reports were awaited.
The body of the actress was taken to the Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle Monday night and later shifted to J.J. Hospital in Byculla.
‘The body was brought here last night. It has now been taken to the J.J. Hospital,’ a source from the Cooper Hospital told IANS. However, he didn’t reveal why the body was moved.
Police are questioning her domestic help, security personnel and neighbours to ascertain what could have triggered the extreme step.
News of her death was first reported by actress Dia Mirza through a social networking site around 1.45 a.m.
Jiah shot into the limelight in 2007 with Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Nishabd’ in which she plays a teenager besotted with a man old enough to be her father. She got a Filmfare Best Debutant nomination for the role.
‘Shocked and choked to hear about Jiah,’ Varma tweeted after hearing the news.
