    एक महिला ने बरेली के मेयर डॉ उमेश गौतम पर गैंगरेप का आरोप लगाकर सनसनी फैला दी है। यह महिला डॉक्टर उमेश गौतम के घर में काम करती करती थी। अब उसने मेयर पर गैंगरेप का आरोप लगाया है। बरेली के थाना थाना कोतवाली के सिविल लाइंस इलाके की रहने वाली एक महिला ने आरोप लगाया है कि बीती 7 दिसंबर 2022 की शाम 6ः30 बजे वह रामपुर गार्डन में डॉक्टर पुनीत सोंधी के यहां दवा लेने जा रही थी। तभी एक गाड़ी उसके समीप आई, उसमें मेयर डॉ उमेश गौतम और लोग बैठे थे जो उसको उठाकर ले गये।

    इसके बाद नशीला पदार्थ खिलाकर गैंगरेप किया और सड़क पर फेंक गए। महिला ने इसकी रिपोर्ट थाना कोतवाली में दर्ज कराई थी मामला न्यायालय में प्रचलित है आज इस महिला ने एसएसपी दफ्तर पहुंचकर न्याय न मिलने की शिकायत करते हुए मेयर उमेश गौतम पर कार्रवाई की मांग की है महिला ने बताया कि पूर्व में डॉक्टर उमेश गौतम के कार्यालय में काम करती थी वह अक्सर उसका यौन शोषण करने पर दबाव बनाते थे, लेकिन वह इसका विरोध करती थी। उस पर एक एसिड अटैक भी हुआ था। 7 दिसंबर को गैंगरेप का शिकार बताते हुए मेयर उमेश गौतम पर सामूहिक बलात्कार का आरोप लगाया है। महिला का कहना है कि उसको न्याय नहीं मिल रहा है आरोपी खुलेआम घूम रहे हैं। उसे जान से मारने की धमकी दे रहे हैं।

    दूसरी ओर डॉक्टर उमेश गौतम अपने पक्ष में सफाई देते हुए कहा कि महिला द्वारा लगाया गया आरोप निराधार है और बहुत ही घिनौना आरोप है यह आरोप राजनीति से प्रेरित है मैंने कोई ऐसा गलत कार्य नहीं किया है आरोप निराधार है

    इस मामले में जब एसपी सिटी राहुल भाटी से पत्रकारों ने सवाल किया तो उन्होंने बताया 7 दिसंबर 2022 को बलात्कार का आरोप लगाते हुए कोतवाली में मुकदमा दर्ज कराया था। मामला न्यायालय में है जो भी आदेश होगा कार्रवाई की जाएगी। अलबत्ता जांच में जो भी खुलासा हो, मेयर डॉक्टर उमेश गौतम पर बलात्कार का आरोप लगने से राजनीतिक हलचल शुरू हो गई है। यह और भी महत्वपूर्ण तब हो जाता है जब आने वाले कुछ ही दिनों बाद नगर निगम चुनाव होने की संभावना है।
