"पेटा हटवा, बैल वाचवा",बैलगाडा संघटनेचा राहुरीत रास्तारोको
राहुरी येथील बाजार समितीसमोर शेतकरी संघटनेचे उत्तर जिल्हाध्यक्ष रवींद्र मोरे यांच्या नेतृत्वाखाली शेकडो शेतकऱ्यांनी राज्यात बैलगाडा शर्यतीला परवानगी द्यावी. या मागणीसाठी बैलांसह रस्त्यावर उतरून, नगर - मनमाड महामार्गावर चक्काजाम आंदोलन केले. बैलांची सवाद्य मिरवणूक काढून, भंडारा उधळीत पेटा हटवा, बैल वाचवा. अशा घोषणा देऊन आंदोलन करण्यात आले. जिल्हा परिषद सदस्य धनराज गाडे, रवींद्र हापसे, प्रशांत शिंदे, बाळासाहेब जाधव, महेश लांबे आदींसह शेतकरी मोठ्या संख्येने उपस्थित होते. या प्रसंगी मनोगत व्यक्त करताना रविंद्र मोरे म्हणाले कि, बैलगाडा शर्यतीची राज्यात चारशे वर्षापूर्वीची परंपरा आहे. पारंपारिक वारसा व शेतकऱ्यांचा आवडता छंद म्हणून बैलगाडा शर्यतीकडे पाहिले जाते. त्यासाठी देशी गायी व बैलांचे संगोपन चांगल्या प्रकारे केले जाते. परंतु बैलांच्या प्रदर्शन व शर्यतीवरील बंदीमुळे बैलांच्या जाती नामशेष होण्याची भीती आहे. ग्रामीण भागात देव देवतांच्या यात्रेमध्ये बैलांचे प्रदर्शन व शर्यती आयोजित करण्याची मोठी परंपरा आहे. यामुळे ग्रामीण भागात मोठी आर्थिक उलाढाल होते. तामिळनाडू व कर्नाटक राज्यात बैलगाडा शर्यतीचा कायदा केला आहे. त्याच धर्तीवर महाराष्ट्रात बैलगाडा शर्यती चालू करण्यासाठी राज्य शासनाने एप्रिल २०१७ मध्ये कायदा केलाय. परंतु या कायद्यास मुंबईतील अजय मराठे यांनी मुंबई उच्च न्यायालयात आव्हान दिले होते.
