Virat Kohli's Old Tweet Goes Viral After India's Loss To New Zealand And More News.

Virat Kohli and his men suffered a horrific loss against New Zealand in their second T20 WC 2021 match. As soon as the coin went in the air, the Indian side started struggling with the toss being not in their favour. However, they couldn’t even make the best of whatever opportunities they were left with and slipped to an eight-wicket loss against the Kiwis.

In the same light of events, skipper Kohli’s old tweet has been doing rounds on the internet. He stated in that tweet- “Sad for the loss ???? going home now.” Though the tweet dates back to January 2011, it is absolutely making sense in the current situation where India stands after its back-to-back defeat.

New Zealand dished out a thrashing to the Indian side on 31st October 2021. Kane Williamson and his men beat India with 8 wickets and 33 balls to spare in Dubai.

And now, former Pakistan cricket legend Shoaib Akhtar has lambasted the Indian side for their poor performance against the Kiwis. Akhtar questioned India’s move to open with Ishan Kishan and demote Rohit Sharma to the No.3 slot.

The ‘Rawalpindi Express’ also opined that Hardik Pandya should have bowled a lot earlier as well. Akhtar also added that the Indian side looked ‘lost’ out in the middle.

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan feels that India needs to allow its players to participate in the T20 leagues around the world. Vaughan’s comments came after India slipped to their second consecutive defeat. After losing to Pakistan in the tournament-opener by 10 wickets, India suffered an eight-wicket defeat against New Zealand on October 31 to mess up their qualification chances.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) does not allow its players to play any league outside India. Taking to Twitter, Vaughan wrote: “India should take a leaf out of all other countries … Allow their players to play in other leagues around the World to gain experience.”
