सोनभद्र मे आगामी त्योहार छठ को सकुशल सम्पन्न कराये जाने हेतु जिलाधिकारी सोनभद्र टी०के० शीबू व पुलिस अधीक्षक सोनभद्र अमरेन्द्र प्रसाद सिंह द्वारा थाना ओबरा,चोपन व राबर्ट्सगंज क्षेत्रान्तर्गत छठ घाटों पर श्रद्धालुओ की सुरक्षा के दृष्टिगत की गयी तैयारियों का जायजा लिया गया । निरीक्षण के दौरान श्रद्धालुओं की व्यापक सुरक्षा व्यवस्था करने व घाटों पर प्रकाश की पर्याप्त व्यवस्था करने,नावों से निगरानी करने व घाटों पर गोता खोरों की व्यवस्था करने हेतु सम्बन्धित क्षेत्राधिकारी/थाना प्रभारी को आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश दिये गये।।

दिल्ली पुलिस के अधिकारियों की कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी के साथ मुलाकात करीब 20 मिनट चली। 10 बजे दिल्ली पुलिस के अधिकारी पहुंचे, 2 घंटे से ज्यादा इंतजार करने के बाद उन्हें राहुल ने मिलने के लिए बुलाया। स्पेशल सीपी सागर प्रीत हुड्डा के मुताबिक राहुल गांधी ने कहा कि कई महिलाओं ने बयान दिया है लेकिन उन्हें कंपाइल करने में समय लगेगा। इसी कारण आज भी राहुल गांधी ने बयान दर्ज नहीं करवाया। पुलिस जल्द से जल्द उनका बयान दर्ज करने की कोशिश करेगी। भारत जोड़ो यात्रा के दौरान श्रीनगर में आखिरी दिन राहुल गांधी ने कहा था कि आज भी महिलाओं के साथ यौन शोषण हो रहा है, इसे लेकर दिल्ली पुलिस ने 16 मार्च को राहुल गांधी को नोटिस भेजकर सवाल पूछा था कि वो कौन सी महिलाएं हैं. जिन्होंने ऐसा कहा है। पुलिस ने राहुल से उन महिलाओं की डिटेल देने की लिए भी कहा था।
