प्रदेश सरकार की ओर से बागवानी को बढ़ावा देने के लिए कई योजनाएं शुरू की गई हैं, इन योजनाओं के जरिए विभिन्न वर्गों के लोग लाभ कमा रहे हैं। इसी कड़ी में एक शिक्षक ने रिटायर होने उपरांत बागवानी शुरू करके मिसाल कायम की है। हम बात कर रहे हैं नगरोटा बगवां के अमतराड़ निवासी सुरेश उपाध्याय की। 79 वर्षीय सुरेश उपाध्याय ने नौकरी से रिटायर होने उपरांत सेब के पौधे लगाए। सेब के साथ लीची से भी सुरेश उपाध्याय आय कमा रहे हैं, वहीं अब उन्होंने कीवी व सब्जियां उगाना भी शुरू कर दिया है। इसमें बागवानी विभाग की ओर से भी उन्हें सहयोग किया गया है। उन्होंने खुद बागवानी शुरू करने के साथ अपने पोते को भी नौकरी के पीछे भागने के बजाय बागवानी में पैर जमाने को प्रेरित किया है।
