ഇന്ത്യൻ വ്യോമ സേനയിൽ ആദ്യമായി ഒരു വനിത ഫ്ലൈറ്റ് എഞ്ചിനീയർ പദവിയിലേക്ക് എത്തുന്നു. ഹിന ജയ്‍സ്വാളിന് ഈ നേട്ടം സ്വന്തം.
ഒരു ചരിത്രം കൂടി തിരുത്തിയെഴുതപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. പുരുഷന്‍മാരുടെ സര്‍വാധിപത്യം നിലവിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു ഒരു മേഖലയില്‍ ഇനി സ്ത്രീസാന്നിധ്യവും. അഭിമാനത്തോടെ, ആദ്യപേരുകാരിയാവുകയാണ് പ‍ഞ്ചാബിലെ ചണ്ഡിഗഡില്‍നിന്നുള്ള ഹിന ജയ്‍സ്വാള്‍. വ്യോമസേനയില്‍ ഫ്ലൈറ്റ് ലഫ്റ്റനന്റ് ആയിരുന്ന ഹിന ഇനി ഫ്ലൈറ്റ് എന്‍ജിനീയര്‍. ഇതാദ്യമായാണ് ഒരു വനിത വ്യോമസേനയില്‍ ഈ പദവിയില്‍ എത്തുന്നത്. കുട്ടിക്കാലം മുതലേ ആകാശത്തെ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ട്., വിമാനങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിച്ച് വ്യോമസേനയില്‍ എത്തിയ ഹിനയ്ക്ക് ഇനി യുദ്ധവിമാനങ്ങളുടെ സങ്കീര്‍ണമായ എന്‍ജിനീയറിങ് സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യയുടെ കുരുക്കഴിക്കാം.
ബുട്ടിമുട്ടേറിയ ഫ്ലൈറ്റ് എന്‍ജിനീയേഴ്സ് കോഴ്സ് വിജയകരമായി പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കിയതോടെയാണ് ഹിനയ്ക്ക് അപൂര്‍വ പദവി ലഭിച്ചത്.
ബെംഗളൂരുവിലെ യലഹങ്ക വ്യോമസേനാ താവളത്തിലായിരുന്നു കോഴ്സ്. വ്യോമസേനയുടെ എന്‍ജിനീയറിങ് വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ നാലുവര്‍ഷം മുമ്പ് ഒരു ജനുവരിയിലാണ് ഹിന ചേരുന്നത്. ഫയറിങ് ടീം ആന്‍ഡ് ബാറ്ററി കമാന്‍ഡര്‍ ചീഫ് പദവി അവര്‍ നേരത്തെ വഹിച്ചിരുന്നു. അതിനുശേഷമാണ് ഫ്ലൈറ്റ് എന്‍ജിനീയേഴ്സ് കോഴ്സിനു തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടത്. ഈ മാസം 15-ാം തീയതിയാണ് കോഴ്സ് പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കിയത്. ആറുമാസത്തെ കഠിന പരിശീലനം. അക്കാലത്ത് പുരുഷ സഹപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരോടൊപ്പം തോളോടു തോള്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നായിരുന്നു ഹിനയുടെ പരിശീലനം. പ‍ഞ്ചാബ് സര്‍വകലാശയില്‍നിന്ന് എന്‍ജിനീയറിങ് ബിരുദം നേടിയതിനുശേഷമാണ് ഡി.കെ.ജയ്‍സ്വാളിന്റെയും അനിത ജയ്‍സ്വാളിന്റെയും ഏകമകളായ ഹിന വ്യോമസേനയില്‍ ചേരുന്നത്.
ഈ നേട്ടം ഒരു സ്വപ്നസാഫല്യമെന്നു മാത്രമാണ് ഹിന പറയുന്നത്.
കുട്ടിക്കാലം മുതലേ കണ്ട സാഹസിക സ്വപ്നത്തിന്റെ വിജയകരമായ പര്യവസാനം. വ്യോമസേനയുടെ സങ്കീർണമായ ഓപ്പറേഷനൽ ഹെലികോപ്റ്റർ യുണിറ്റിലാണ് ഹിന പ്രവർത്തിക്കുക. പ്രയാസമേറിയ സാഹചര്യങ്ങളില്‍ വിളിക്കപ്പെടാം. സിയാച്ചിനിലെ കൊടുംതണുപ്പിലും ആന്‍ഡമാനിലെ കടലിടുക്കിലുമൊക്കെ ജോലി ചെയ്യേണ്ടിവരാം. പക്ഷേ, വെല്ലുവിളികളെ നേരിടാന്‍ ഹിന തയാര്‍. കുറച്ചു വർഷങ്ങളായി ലിംഗസമത്വം ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്ന നടപടികളാണ് വ്യോമസേന കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നത്. 1993 ലാണ് ഓഫിസര്‍ കേഡറിലേക്ക് വ്യോമസേന വനിതകളെ നിയോഗി
