केंद्र सरकार ने शुक्रवार को एक बड़ा कदम उठाया है.. केंद्र सरकार ने देश के 13 जिलों में रह रहे अफगानिस्तान, पाकिस्तान और बांग्लादेश से आए गैर-मुस्लिम शरणार्थियों को भारतीय नागरिकता देने का फैसला किया है.. और इसके लिए इन लोगों से आवेदन भी मंगाए गए हैं... आपको बता दें कि फिलहाल ये शरणार्थी गुजरात, राजस्थान, छत्तीसगढ़, हरियाणा और पंजाब के 13 जिलों में रह रहे हैं... इनका धर्म हिंदू, सिख, जैन और बौद्ध इत्यादि है... केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने नागरिकता कानून 1955 और 2009 में कानून के अंतर्गत बनाए गए नियमों के तहत आदेश के तत्काल कार्यान्वयन के लिए इस आशय की एक अधिसूचना जारी की है... हालांकि, सरकार ने 2019 में लागू संशोधित नागरिकता कानून (सीएए) के तहत नियमों को अभी तक तैयार नहीं किया है...

  • Citizenship Act protests in N-E states: Will tweak the Amendment if needed, says Shah

    In his first public rally after the Citizenship (Amendment) Act cleared the Parliament hurdle, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday hinted that “some changes” could be made in the law’s provisions to address the concerns of the northeastern states. “Conrad Sangma (Meghalaya chief minister) and his ministers met me on Friday and informed me about the problems they are facing... I tried to make them understand that there is no issue. When they insisted some changes need to be made to the law, I asked them to meet me after Christmas. I have assured them we will hold constructive discussions on the matter and come up with solutions to Meghalaya’s problems,” Shah said.
