പേര് വാസു.പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്ക് ശേഖരണമാണ് ഹോബി.പതിനഞ്ചു വര്‍ഷമായി പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്ക് വലിച്ചെരിയാതെ വീടിന്റെ ടെറസില്‍ സൂക്ഷിക്കുകയാണ് കൊച്ചി ഏരൂര്‍സ്വദേശി വാസു.സ്വന്തം വീട്ടില്‍ സൂക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ഒരു വസ്തുവും വലിച്ചെറിഞ്ഞാല്‍ അത് മാലിന്യവും എന്നാണ് വാസുവിന്റെ മതം. മറ്റാർക്കും ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുണ്ടാക്കാത്ത രീതിയിൽ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് നിർമാർജനം എന്ന് തുടങ്ങുന്നുവോ അന്ന് അവർക്ക് കൈമാറാൻ കാത്തുകെട്ടിവച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ് തന്റെ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്ക് ശേഖരം.വീട്ടിലെത്തുന്ന ആക്ക്രിക്കാര്‍ക്ക് പോലും വാസു പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്ക് നല്‍കാറില്ല.കടയില്‍ സാധനം വാങ്ങിയ ശേഷം കവറുകള്‍ തിരികെ നല്കാറുണ്ട് വാസു. ഇപ്പോള്‍ അത് ആ നാട്ടുകാരുടെ മുഴുവന്‍ ശീലമായിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു., 19 വർഷം മുമ്പ് മകൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്ന കളിപ്പാട്ടങ്ങളും വാസുവിന്റെ ശേഖരത്തിലുണ്ട്. ഇ മാലിന്യങ്ങളും ഇക്കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ പെടുന്നു.ഭക്ഷ്യസുരക്ഷാ വകുപ്പിലെ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനായിരുന്നു വാസു.2003-ൽ പുതിയ വീട്ടിൽ താമസം തുടങ്ങിയതു മുതലാണ് പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ഒരു തരി പോലും പുറത്തേക്ക് വലിച്ചെറിയില്ല എന്ന ദൃഢനിശ്ചയം വാസു എടുത്തത്ത്.
