RBI on Monday asked banks, NBFCs and payment system providers not to refer to its earlier virtual currencies-related circular, that was issued in April 2018 and later aside by the Supreme Court, in their communications to customers.

By decoupling economic growth from resource use, setting global standards in product sustainability, keeping resource use within planetary boundaries and promoting the re-use of materials, circular economy may be the only sustainable economic model for the future. Secondly, the circular economy promotes the use of as many biodegradable materials as possible in the manufacture of products -biological nutrients- so they can get back to nature without causing environmental damage at the end of their useful life. When it is not possible to use eco-friendly materials -technical nutrients: electronics, hardware, batteries... - the aim is to facilitate a simple uncoupling to give them a new life by reintroducing them into the production cycle and composing a new piece.     Parliament's standing committee on finance has come down heavily on RBI and has asked it to review the capital adequacy norms for banking sector. The Veerappa Moily headed panel report says that stringent capital adequacy norms for PSBs are unrealistic and unwarranted. The committee, in its report tabled in Parliament, has recommended "that all the offences under this Bill should be made cognisable and non-bailable and the same should be clearly mentioned in the Bill".

    Reserve Bank of India deputy governor MK Jain on Tuesday raised red flags over rising non-performing assets (NPAs) in loans disbursed under the government’s Mudra loan scheme and urged banks to monitor the repayment capacity of borrowers before disbursement. The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana is a central government scheme under which small businesses can avail collateral-free working capital loan up to Rs 10 lakh. The scheme was flagged off in 2015 by PM Modi to ease the credit flow to India’s MSME sector.
