ഡ്യുക്കാട്ടി മോഹം കെടിഎം ഇപ്പോഴും മനസ്സില്‍ കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. പങ്കാളിയായ ബജാജും കാണുന്നു ഇറ്റാലിയന്‍ സൂപ്പര്‍ബൈക്ക് കമ്പനിയെ സ്വന്തമാക്കാനുള്ള സ്വപ്‌നം. സ്വീഡിഷ് ബൈക്ക് കമ്പനി ഹസ്ഖവര്‍ണയെ കൂടാതെ ഡ്യുക്കാട്ടിയെയും വാങ്ങാന്‍ തങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് താത്പര്യമുണ്ടെന്ന് കെടിഎം തലവന്‍ സ്റ്റീഫന്‍ പിയെറര്‍ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി.
രാജ്യാന്തര മാധ്യമത്തിന് നല്‍കിയ അഭിമുഖത്തിലാണ് പിയെറര്‍ ആഗ്രഹം പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചത്.
നിലവില്‍ ജര്‍മ്മന്‍ ഭീമന്മാരായ ഫോക്‌സ്‌വാഗണ്‍ ഗ്രൂപ്പാണ് ഡ്യുക്കാട്ടിയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥര്‍. ഡീസല്‍ഗേറ്റ് വിവാദത്തില്‍ ഉഴറുന്ന ഫോക്‌സ്‌വാഗണ്‍ ഡ്യൂക്കാട്ടിയെ വില്‍ക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമങ്ങള്‍ നടത്തവെ ബജാജ് - കെടിഎം കൂട്ടായ്മ ഇറ്റാലിയന്‍ കമ്പനിയെ റാഞ്ചാനുള്ള പുറപ്പാടിലാണെന്ന് ഇതോടെ വ്യക്തം.
ബൈക്ക് ലോകത്തെ ഫെറാറിയെന്ന് ഡ്യുക്കാട്ടിയെ കെടിഎം തലവന്‍ അഭിമുഖത്തിനിടെ വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. ഡ്യുക്കാട്ടിയുമായുള്ള വൈകാരിക ബന്ധമാണ് ഇറ്റാലിയന്‍ കമ്പനി സ്വന്തമാക്കാനുള്ള ആഗ്രഹത്തിന് പിന്നില്‍. കെടിഎമ്മിന് കീഴില്‍ ഇനിയൊരു ബ്രാന്‍ഡ് വരുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ അത് ഡ്യുക്കാട്ടി മാത്രമായിരിക്കുമെന്ന് പിയെറര്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

ഫോക്‌സ്‌വാഗണ്‍ ഗ്രൂപ്പിന്റെ പ്രീമിയം കാര്‍ ഡിവിഷന്‍ ഔഡിയാണ് ഡ്യൂക്കാട്ടിയെ വിപണിയില്‍ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നതും. 2012 -ല്‍ 6,000 കോടി രൂപയ്ക്ക് ഫോക്‌സ്‌വാഗണ്‍ ഡ്യുക്കാട്ടിയെ വാങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു.
800 മുതല്‍ 1,200 സിസി വരെയുള്ള പ്രീമിയം സ്‌പോര്‍ട്‌സ് ബൈക്ക് ശ്രേണിയില്‍ ഡ്യുക്കാട്ടി മോഡലുകള്‍ ലോക പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. സുസുക്കി, ഹോണ്ട, ഹാര്‍ലി ഡേവിഡ്‌സണ്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രമുഖ ബൈക്ക് നിര്‍മ്മാതാക്കള്‍ക്കും ഡ്യുക്കാട്ടിയിന്മേല്‍ കണ്ണുണ്ട്.
എന്തായാലും ഡ്യുക്കാട്ടിയെ കെടിഎം വാങ്ങിയാല്‍ ബജാജ് ബൈക്കുകള്‍ക്കായിരിക്കും നീക്കം കൂടുതല്‍ ഗുണം ചെയ്യുക.
