'ആന്റിലോക്ക് ബ്രേക്കിങ് സിസ്റ്റം' എന്നാണ് മുഴുവന്‍ പേര്. ഇപ്പോഴിറങ്ങുന്ന വാഹനങ്ങളില്‍ ഇത് നിര്‍ബന്ധമാണ്. അതിവേഗത്തില്‍ പോകുന്ന വാഹനങ്ങളില്‍ പെട്ടെന്ന് ബ്രേക്ക് ചവിട്ടിയാല്‍ ചക്രങ്ങള്‍ ഒറ്റയടിക്ക് നില്‍ക്കില്ല. കാരണം, റോഡിന്റെ സ്ഥിതിയും നാലുചക്രങ്ങളിലുള്ള കരുത്തും വേറെയായിരിക്കും. അതിനാല്‍ ബ്രേക്ക് ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്‍ ചക്രങ്ങളിലേക്കെത്തുന്ന കരുത്ത് വ്യത്യസ്തമാകും. ബ്രേക്ക് ഫോഴ്സ് കൂടുതലെത്തുന്ന ചക്രങ്ങള്‍ പെട്ടെന്ന് നിശ്ചലമാകും.

    വേഗത്തിൽ വരുന്ന വാഹനം സഡൻ ബ്രേക്കിടുകയാണെങ്കിൽ ബ്രേക്കിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനം മൂലം ടയറുകളുടെ കറക്കം നിൽക്കും. എന്നാൽ വാഹനത്തിന്റെ വേഗതമൂലം വാഹനം തെന്നി നീങ്ങി മറ്റ് വാഹനങ്ങളിൽ ചെന്നിടിക്കാം. ഇത്തരം സാഹചര്യമാണ് എബിഎസ് ഇല്ലാതാക്കുന്നത്. സഡൻ ബ്രേക്കില്‍ എബിഎസ് ബ്രേക്ക് ഫോഴ്‌സ് പമ്പ് ചെയ്ത് ടയറുകളിൽ നൽകുകയും ഇതുവഴി വാഹനം തെന്നി നീങ്ങുന്നത് ഒഴിവാക്കുകയും മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട ബ്രേക്കിങ് നൽകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

    Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao flagged off 466 new 108 ambulances (emergency vehicles), and 228 Amma Vodi (transport facility for pregnant women) at Peoples Plaza on Tuesday, August 1.
    Of these, 34 are Hearse Vehicles which are deployed to provide specialized services of transporting bodies of the deceased back to their native place, free of cost.
    Before the launch, the 108 emergency fleet consisted of 426 vehicles out of which 175 vehicles are now being replaced by new ones and 29 new ambulances are being added to new routes.
    lso, they were 300 non-emergency vehicles in the Amma Vodi fleet earlier, out of which 228 are now being replaced.
