आजमगढ़ के मुबारकपुर थाना पुलिस द्वारा बीती रात चेकिंग के दौरान बम्हौर अण्डर पास सिक्सलेन के नीचे मुबारकपुर की तरफ से आ रही ट्रैक्टर को रोकने का प्रयास किया गया। इस दौरान दो व्यक्ति ट्रैक्टर से कूद कर भाग गये। पुलिस ने ट्रैक्टर चालक हरिश्चन्द्र उर्फ हरिश पुत्र प्रहलाद यादव सा0 सोफीपुर थाना निजामाबाद जनपद आजमगढ़ को तलाशी लिया। तलाशी के दौरान 20 पैकेट प्रत्येक में 10 कि0ग्रा0 गांजा अर्थात कुल 200 कि0ग्रा0 (करीब दस लाख की कीमत) गांजा बरामद हुआ बरामद हुआ। पूछताछ में गिरफ्तार अभियुक्त ने बताया कि वे लोग आये दिन गोरखपुर जाकर वहां से ट्रैक्टर में गांजा लादकर उसके ऊपर सिमेंट की बोरी रखकर सावधानी पूर्वक लाते हैं। उसने पुलिस को बताया कि उसके साथी रामनयन व राजेश मौर्या मिलकर गांजे को गोरखपुर से लाते है और ब्रह्मस्थान राजेश मौर्या के घर पर इकट्ठा करते है तथा भांग की दुकान के दुकानदार जिनको जितना जरूरत होता है उनको हम लोग चोरी छिपे सप्लाई करते है। पुलिस ने गांजा सहित ट्रैक्टर को कब्जे में लेते हुए अभियुक्त को गिरफ्तार जेल भेज दिया।
