विगत काफी समय से जनपद में नगर व देहात क्षेत्र से लगातार शिकायते प्राप्त हो रही थी कि जनपद में ई-रिक्शा चोरी करने वाला एक गैंग सक्रिय है उक्त गैग सवारी के रूप में ई-रिक्शा किराये पर लेते है तथा रास्ते में किसी बहाने से कोल्ड ड्रिक अथवा किसी अन्य पैय पदार्थ में नशीली दवाई/पदार्थ मिलाकर रिक्शा चालक को पिला देते है जिससे रिक्शा चालक को नशा हो जाता है तथा यह गैंग उसका ई-रिक्शा चोरी करके ले जाता है । ई-रिक्शा चालक घटना के काफी समय के बाद नशे की हालत में अकेला पुलिस को मिलता है । इसी क्रम में पुलिस ने 5 लोगो को गिरफ्तार किया जिनके पास से 13 ई रिक्शा व ई रिक्शो के पार्ट्स बरामद हुए है ।
पुलिस अधीक्षक एस आनंद ने बताया कि अभियुक्तों से हुई पूछताछ पर उनके द्वारा बताया गया कि हम लोग तिलहर के रहने वाले सोहेल जो हमारा लीडर है के साथ मिलकर गैंग बना कर सुबह 4 बजे से 8 बजे तक जिस समय पुलिस का मूवमेंट कम होता है उसी समय घटनाओं को अंजाम दिया करते थे और जो रुपये रिक्शे से कमाते थे उसे आपस मे बराबर बाट लिया करते थे ।
