അരനൂറ്റാണ്ടു മുൻപ്, മലയാളിയായ അമ്മ ആശുപത്രിയിലുപേക്ഷിച്ചുപോയ കുഞ്ഞിനെ ജർമൻ ദമ്പതികൾ ദത്തെടുത്തപ്പോൾ കീഴ്മേൽ മറിഞ്ഞത് അനാഥനായി ഒടുങ്ങേണ്ട ജീവിതം.
ഒട്ടും പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാത്ത സൗഭാഗ്യങ്ങളുമായി ആ അനാഥബാലൻ നിക്ളൗസ് സാമുവൽ ഗുഗ്ഗർ എന്ന നിക് വളർന്നു വലുതായപ്പോൾ, സിനിമാക്കഥയെ വെല്ലുന്ന ജീവിതമായി. അനസൂയയെന്ന മലയാളി ബ്രാഹ്മണ സ്ത്രീയുടെ മകനായി പിറന്ന്, അച്ഛനാരെന്നറിയാതെ വളർന്ന നിക് ഇപ്പോൾ സ്വിറ്റ്സർലൻഡിലെ പ്രൊട്ടസ്റ്റന്റ് ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ പാർട്ടിയുടെ എംപിയായി പാർലമെന്റിലെ താരം. 1970 മെയ് ഒന്നിന് രാത്രി 1.20 ന് ഉഡുപ്പിയിലെ ലെംബാർഡ് മെമ്മോറിയൽ ആശുപത്രിയിലായിരുന്നു ജനനം. അമ്മയെക്കുറിച്ച് പറഞ്ഞു കേട്ട അറിവു മാത്രം. ‘ ഇവനെ നന്നായി നോക്കുന്ന ഒരു കുടുംബത്തെ ഏൽപ്പിക്കണം’ എന്ന അഭ്യർത്ഥനയോടെ കുഞ്ഞിനെ വനിതാ ഡോക്ടർ ഫ്ളൂക്ഫെല്ലിനെ എൽപ്പിച്ച ശേഷം അനസൂയ ആശുപത്രിയിൽനിന്നു പോയി.
തലശേരിയിൽ നെട്ടൂർ ടെക്നിക്കൽ ട്രെയിനിങ് ഫൗണ്ടേഷനിൽ പഠിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന ജർമൻ സ്വദേശികളായ എൻജിനീയർ ഫ്രിറ്റ്സും ഭാര്യ എലിസബത്തും മലേറിയക്കു ചികിത്സ തേടി ലെംബാർഡ് ആശുപത്രിയിലെത്തിലെത്തിയത് ആയിടെ. അവർ അവിടെ നിന്നു ദത്തെടുത്തത് ആ കുഞ്ഞിനെയായിരുന്നു.
അമ്മ തിരികെയെത്തുമോയെന്നു കാത്തിരുന്നു 2 വർഷം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ, ഫ്രിറ്റ്സും എലിസബത്തും മലയാളം പത്രങ്ങളിൽ പരസ്യം നൽകി.
അനസൂയ പക്ഷേ, വന്നില്ല. ആ പരസ്യം നിക് ഇന്നും സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. നിക്ളൗസ് സാമുവൽ ഗുഗ്ഗർ എന്ന പേരുമായി പ്രൊട്ടസ്റ്റന്റ് ക്രിസ്ത്യനായി അവൻ വളർന്നു. പ്രൊട്ടസ്റ്റന്റ് ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ പാർട്ടിയുടെ എംപിയായി. ‘ബ്രാഹ്മണനു വന്ന പരിണാമം നോക്കൂ’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് നിക് ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഫ്രിറ്റ്സിനൊപ്പം തലശേരി എൻടിടിഎഫിൽ അക്കൗണ്ട്സ് വിഭാഗത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന രഘുനാഥ് കുറുപ്പിന്റെ ഫോൺ നമ്പർ നിക്കിന്റെ മൊബൈലിലുണ്ട്. തലശേരി ജീവിതത്തിനു ശേഷം ഫ്രിറ്റ്സും എലിസബത്തും സ്വിറ്റ്സർലൻഡിലെ ഥൂൺ എന്ന െചറു പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങി. അവർക്കു 2 പെൺകുട്ടികൾ കൂടി ജനിച്ചു.

The Government of India has today sanctioned 12 projects worth Rs 194.58 crore under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for the state. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that during his recent visit to Delhi, he had taken up the matter of approval of these projects with the Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
