Due to heavy rains, a hill in Kothigaihari village under Balh sub-division of Mandi district has started cracking, threatening a dozen houses. Due to the cracking of the hill, the houses of Vidya Devi, Tara Chand, Sanju, Ballu Ram, Bittu Ram, Dharmi Devi and Pankaj Kumar of the village have come under its control. Now Vidya Devi's kitchen and toilet while Sanju's cowshed has been damaged. Vidya Devi is now running the kitchen in the verandah of the house. Vidya Devi told that when it was raining heavily on Friday night, cracks started appearing on the ground of her kitchen. Suddenly the cracks increased. People spent the night awake and saw the next morning, the ground had sunk more than a foot. Still this family is forced to live under the shadow of danger.
