स्वतंत्रता दिवस से तीन दिन पहले दिल्ली पुलिस ने पूर्वी जिले से करीब दो हज़ार से अधिक कारतूस बरामद किए और छह लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है। पूर्वी क्षेत्र के अतिरिक्त पुलिस आयुक्त विक्रमजीत सिंह के अनुसार, शुरूआती जांच में आरोपियों के किसी बड़े आपराधिक नेटवर्क से जुड़े होने की आशंका है, हालांकि उन्होंने आतंकी पहलू से इनकार नहीं किया।

    कोतवाली #खुर्जा नगर क्षेत्र के जीटी रोड स्थित पॉटरी क्षेत्र से पुलिस ने अवैध #शराब फैक्ट्री पकड़ी। साथ ही तीन लोगों को गिरफ्तार कर एक हजार लीटर अपमिश्रित और 22 सौ पव्वे बनी शराब बरामद की है।

    सीओ सुरेश कुमार ने बताया कि सोमवार की देर रात पुलिस को सूचना मिली कि जीटी रोड स्थित खुर्जा बाइपास के निकट पॉटरी क्षेत्र में अवैध शराब बनाने का कार्य चल रहा है। पुलिस ने तत्काल मौके पर पहुंचकर जांच शुरू कर दी। जिसमें पुलिस को पाटरी क्षेत्र स्थित एक स्थान पर अवैध शराब बनाने की फैक्ट्री दिखाई दी। जहां से पुलिस ने सुभाष निवासी करतला थाना बागवाला जनपद एटा, रिजवान निवासी मोहल्ला शेख साइबान थाना कोतवाली खुर्जा नगर और सोनू निवासी नगला मोती जिला हाथरस को गिरफ्तार कर लिया। जिनके पास से करीब छह सौ लीटर एल्कोहल, दस ड्रमों में भरी एक हजार लीटर अपमिश्रित शराब, 10 खाली ड्रम, 20 बोरों में भरे 30 हजार खाली पव्वे, एल लाख ढ़क्क्न और 22 सौ पव्वे तैयार शराब सहित अन्य शराब बनाने के उपकरण भी बरामद किए हैं।
