UP Elections : Change in Polling Venues bare Aligarh's Communal Tension

Baniya Para is quite neatly demarcated into Hindu and Muslim enclaves by the main road leading to Sri Varshney Dharamshala. On the Hindu side, the residents told Catch many of them are “boycotting” this election. Reason? The “transfer” of polling booths to the “Muslim areas”. The Election Commission last month shifted the polling booth from Sri Varshney Dharamshala to Islamiya Primary School. In the nearby Turkman Gate, the booth was moved from Kanchan Trust Dharamshala to Prince Modern Public School. On 22 January, Hindus of Baniya Para had, in a letter, appealed the district election officer to change back the polling venues.

    बंगाल ,बिहार ,गुजरात के बाद राजस्थान के केई शहर दंगे की चपेट में राजस्थान के पाली जिले के जेतारण में हनुमान जयंती पर निकाले गए जुलूस पर पथराव के कारण सांप्रदायिक तनाव फैल गया। हालात इतने बिगड़ गए कि कई वाहनों को फुंक दिया तो दुकानों में तोड़ फोड़ कर दी। पुलिस ने आंसूगैस भी छोड़ी तो लाठीचार्ज भी किया ।जिलाधिकारी सुधीर कुमार शर्मा ने बताया कि स्थिति पर नियंत्रण करने के लिए इलाके में सीआरपीसी की धारा 144 के तहत निषेधाज्ञा लागू कर दी गई है

    उत्तर प्रदेश के बिजनौर में हालात तनावपूर्ण हैं। हालात पर काबू पाने के लिए गांव को छावनी में तब्दील कर दिया गया है। चप्पे-चप्पे पर पुलिस मुस्तैद है और प्रशासन ने पूरे ज़िले में इंटरनेट सेवा बंद करा दी है। दरअसल मामला बिजनौर जिले के पेदा गांव का है, जहां शुक्रवार सुबह अल्पसंख्यक समुदाय की एक स्कूली छात्रा के साथ कथित रूप से छेड़छाड़ की घटना के बाद दो समुदायों के बीच झगड़ा हुआ था। इस झड़प में लड़की के परिवार के 3 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी, साथ ही 12 लोग जख्मी भी हुए थे। घटना के बाद से ही गांव में तनाव का माहौल है। शुक्रवार रात साढ़े आठ बजे जाट समुदाय के तकरीबन 100 लोगों ने पेदा गांव को चारों तरफ से घेर लिया और मुस्लिम परिवार के एक शख्स पर फायर कर दिया था। इस मामले में अबतक पुलिस ने 6 लोगों के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज करके उन्हें गिरफ्तार किया है। साथ ही तीन पुलिसवालों को ठीक से ड्यूटी ना करने के मामले में बर्खास्त भी किया गया है। कहा जा रहा है कि जिन पुलिसकर्मियों को बर्खास्त किया गया है वो मौकाए वारदात पर मौजूद थे, जिसके बाद भी माहौल इतना बिगड़ गया। वहीं दूसरी तरफ मुख्यमंत्री अखिलेश यादव ने बिजनौर की घटना के दोषियों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई के निर्देश दिए हैं। साथ ही कहा कि राज्य सरकार कानून-व्यवस्था के मुद्दे पर कोई समझौता नहीं करेगी।
