    കേരളത്തിലേതിനു സമാനമായി പ്രളയം കര്‍ണാടകയിലെ കുടകിലും. ആയിരങ്ങള്‍ ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ടു; ഉരുള്‍പ്പൊട്ടലില്‍ വീട് തകര്‍ന്നു വീണ് ആറുപേര്‍ മരിച്ചു


    നൂറുകണക്കിനു കുടുംബങ്ങളാണു ദുരിത പ്രദേശങ്ങളില്‍ കുടുങ്ങി കിടക്കുന്നത്. സംസ്ഥാന സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തിനായി സൈന്യത്തിന്റെയുള്‍പ്പെടെ സഹായം തേടിയിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ആയിരങ്ങള്‍ ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ടുകിടക്കുകയാണ്. കുടക് ജില്ലയിലെ ജോദുപാലയില്‍ ഉരുള്‍പൊട്ടലില്‍ 20 പേരെ കാണാതായി. മടിക്കേരി, കുശാല്‍ നഗര്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള പ്രദേശങ്ങള്‍ ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ടു. വിവിധയിടങ്ങളില്‍ മലയിടിഞ്ഞ് റോഡ് ബ്ലോക്കായി ഗതാഗതം തടസപ്പെട്ടു. 98 റോഡുകളും 58 ചെറുപാലങ്ങളും 3006 വൈദ്യുത പോസ്റ്റുകളും തകര്‍ന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. . മോശം കാലാസ്ഥ രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനം ദുഷ്‌കരമാക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. മൊബൈല്‍ നെറ്റ്‌വര്‍ക്കുകള്‍ തകരാറിലായതിനാല്‍ നിരവധി പേര്‍ പൊലീസിനെയോ ബന്ധുക്കളെയോ ബന്ധപ്പെടാനാകാതെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിലാണ്.

    മരിച്ചവരുടെ കുടുംബാംഗങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അഞ്ച് ലക്ഷം രൂപ സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ധനസഹായം പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.


    ബെംഗളൂരുവില്‍ നിന്നു മംഗളൂരുവിലേക്കുള്ള കര്‍ണാടക ആര്‍ടിസിയുടെ പകല്‍ ബസ് സര്‍വീസുകള്‍ പുനരാരംഭിച്ചു. മണ്ണിടിച്ചില്‍ ഉണ്ടായ ഹാസന്‍-മംഗളൂരു റൂട്ടില്‍ ഏഴ് ദിവസം പിന്നിട്ടിട്ടും ട്രെയിന്‍ ഗതാഗതം പുനരാരംഭിച്ചില്ല. കുടക് ജില്ലയില്‍ 22 വരെ ശക്തമായ മഴ തുടരുമെന്നു കാലാവസ്ഥാ നിരീക്ഷണ കേന്ദ്രം അറിയിച്ചു.
