The adoption of #opensourcesoftware has been steadily increasing over the years, as more organizations recognize the benefits of using open source software in their IT environments.Recently, Endor Labs has introduced an OWASP-style listing of the most important or impactful risks inherent in the use of open source software (OSS).


Open source software has become increasingly popular over the years, as it offers many benefits such as cost savings, flexibility, and transparency. However, with the increasing adoption of open source software, there are also increasing concerns around security and risk.


One of the main risks associated with open source software is the potential for security vulnerabilities. Because open source software is developed by a community of contributors, there is a greater risk that vulnerabilities could be introduced by malicious actors or unintentionally by well-intentioned contributors.

    New Delhi: It is important to pay attention to oral care as poor oral health can increase the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by 75%, finds study. The study published in 'United European Gastroenterology Journal', analyzed a large cohort of over 469,000 people in the United Kingdom, investigated the association between oral health conditions and the risk of a number of gastrointestinal cancers, including liver, colon, rectum and pancreatic cancer. Participants with poor oral health were more likely to be younger, female, living in deprived socio-economic areas and consumed less than two portions of fruit and vegetables per day. The biological mechanisms by which poor oral health may be more strongly associated with liver cancer, rather than other digestive cancers, is currently uncertain. One explanation is the potential role of the oral and gut microbiome in disease development. Another theory explaining the higher cancer risk due to poor oral health suggested that participants with a high number of missing teeth may alter their diet, consuming softer and potentially less nutritious foods, which in turn influence the risk of liver cancer.

    We can’t deny the fact of the growing Economic Uncertainty, Competitive Threats and Cost Inflation Cited as the Biggest Risks to Business Performance. Fifty-seven percent of Boards of Directors have increased or expect to increase their risk appetite heading into 2022, according to a new survey from Gartner. The Boards of Directors cite economic uncertainty (38%), disruptive business models from competitors (35%) and cost inflation due to supply shortages (28%) as the top risks to business performance. The Survey was conducted via an online survey from May through June 2021 among 273 respondents in the U.S., Europe and APAC in a board of director role or a member of the corporate board of directors. During the pandemic, the Boards of Directors recognized that they needed to become comfortable operating in an environment of significant risk, as standing still was not an option. “This drove them to embrace the ‘try fast, fail fast approach,’ and in 2022, the Boards of Directors will continue taking risks such as making technology investment decisions with incomplete information or making financial bets without up-front visibility around a guaranteed return.

    Digital Technology Remains a Top Priority and the Boards of Directors remain highly committed to digital technology initiatives, which was ranked as a top strategic business priority by 58% of survey respondents. However, this is a slight decrease from the 2021 survey. Having invested so much in digital business over the past 12 to 18 months, enterprises are taking a pause to validate their strategy and ensure ROI. For Boards of Directors, the core focus is now on technology integration and creating a more enduring and systemic digital economic architecture, where technology is infused throughout the business and drives business outcomes.
