मबाजी... आगजनी... मतपेटियों में लूट... ये तस्वीरें कहीं और की नहीं बल्कि उसी पश्चिम बंगाल की है जो पूरे देश में हिंसा के लिए चर्चित है... वैसे तो इस राज्य की अपनी एक अलग पहचान और संस्कृति है लेकिन बीते कई सालों से पश्चिम बंगाल हिंसा की आग में जल रहा है... और जब चुनाव हो तो फिर ये हिंसा गृह युद्ध में तब्दील हो जाती है... हिंसा का पर्याय बना पश्चिम बंगाल में जब से पंचायत चुनाव की चर्चा चली तब से हिंसा औऱ बढ़ गई थी... शनिवार को जब पंचायत चुनाव के लिए मतदान शुरू हुआ ठीक वैसे ही हिंसा की खबरें सामने आनी शुरू हो गईं... शाम आते- आते पंचायत चुनाव में हुई हिंसा में 20 लोगों की मौत हो गई... आठ जुलाई को हुए पंचायत चुनाव में हिंसा के बीच शाम पांच बजे तक 66.28 प्रतिशत मतदान हुआ... पंचायत चुनाव में 73 हजार से अधिक सीटों पर मतदान हुआ है...
