    Guidelines Issued | Advertising Crypto-Related Products | VARINDIA News Hour

    The new crypto Ad Rules have arrived and with this the companies dealing in selling crypto assets may turn into crypto liabilities if they don’t follow the rules. Advertising of virtual digital assets and services needs specific guidance, considering that this is a new and as yet an emerging way of investing, since there is a need to make consumers aware of the risks. The Advertising Standards Council of India has introduced a set of 12 guidelines for the advertisement and promotion of virtual digital assets and services such as cryptos and non-fungible assets, almost three months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed “misleading ads” in the cryptocurrency space in November 2021. The guidelines, applicable on ads of crypto-related products from April 1, 2022, say such ads shouldn't carry the words "currency", "securities", "custodian" and "depositories". Ads should carry a disclaimer saying, "Crypto products & NFTs are unregulated and can be highly risky." Information on past performance shall not be provided in a biased manner and there may be no regulatory recourse for any loss from such transactions. The rule comes while there were commercials for cryptocurrency-related products and offerings, which have flooded TV screens over the past year promising easy money, convenient trading, fixed returns and more.

    The council has specified the size of print to be used for the disclosure and the manner in which it should be broadcast through the audio-visual medium. In social media posts, such a disclaimer must be carried in the caption as well as any picture or video attachments. The disclaimer must be made in the dominant language of the advertisement. No advertisement may suggest that virtual digital assets could be a solution to money problems. No advertisement shall contain statements that promise or guarantee

The business of technology is making other businesses more productive, efficient, data enabled and giving them a return on investment which they could not have imagined. The reality of business is whether you are able to create a business ecosystem of your own or are you still stuck up in the wholesaler, reseller, last mile mode, with any number of intermediaries. During Microsoft Inspire, while delivering the keynote this year, #SatyaNadella said that for every dollar Microsoft earns, nine dollars goes to its associates. Microsoft currently has over 400,000 associates globally, 95% of Microsoft's commercial revenue comes from partners.



    At the same time, Jeff Bezos had earlier stated that seven eighth of the revenue generated by Amazon goes to its global army of the Associates / affiliates. Suffice to say the nature of business has changed. Even the biggest of the MNCs are able to either deal with the customer or through just one intermediary. The third and even more critical component of business is that a software ties the whole business together. It is only through those processes business is conducted. There is no manual intervention but for feeding of process data and the system would then act as per the business logic already fed into it. It has to be a 24/7/365 system and it should work as a failsafe and an error proof mechanism. The ecosystem is self-created and should remain totally under your control.

    As per the data from LinkedIn ,based on the survey responses of 1,891 professionals from May 8 to June 4, findings reveal how the aftermath of the pandemic’s second wave has left Indian professionals — particularly Gen Z and working women — increasingly vulnerable to the economic uncertainty in today’s evolving job market. The report shows that ,India’s overall workforce confidence has declined after peaking in early March, with a composite score of +54 today (down 4 points from +58 in March). This dip in confidence is reflected strongly across professionals from creative industries such as Entertainment, Design, and Media & Comms, who expressed being uncertain about the future of their employers. But as several parts of the economy gradually reopen, professionals from Software & IT and Hardware & Networking are growing increasingly confident about the future of their organizations.

    As India slowly begins to come out of the second wave of Covid-19 cases, we see the year-over-year hiring rate recover from a low of 10% in April to 35% at the end of May. The second wave worsens ‘she cession’; twice as many working women worried about availability of jobs, time for job-seeking compared to working men. 30% Gen Z professionals troubled due to lack of jobs, compared to 18% Baby Boomers. The pandemic’s recent peak in India has amplified the importance of work experience and professional connections, as young Indians were found twice (2.5x) as worried as their older cohorts, about the impact of COVID-19 on their careers. The survey reveals that, ‘Flexibility’ and ‘work life balance’ become as important as ‘salary’ and ‘benefits’ today. Meanwhile, this growing demand for flexibility comes at a time when remote opportunities continue to grow.
