ഭൂമിയില്‍ നിന്നും 3,700 കിലോഗ്രാം ചരക്കുമായി സിഗ്നസ് രാജ്യാന്തര ബഹിരാകാശ നിലയത്തിലെത്തി. ബിസ്‌ക്കറ്റിനായി കുഴച്ച മാവ് മുതല്‍ എലികള്‍ വരെയുണ്ട് ഇതില്‍. ബഹിരാകാശ നിലയത്തിലേക്ക് ചരക്കെത്തിക്കാന്‍ ചുമതലയുള്ള രണ്ട് കമ്പനികളിലൊന്നായ നോര്‍ത്ത്‌റോപ് ഗ്രൂമനാണ് എസ്.എസ്. അലന്‍ ബീന്‍ എന്ന് പേരിട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ആളില്ലാ ചരക്ക് പേടകം അയച്ചത്.രാജ്യാന്തര ബഹിരാകാശ നിലയത്തിലെ യാത്രികര്‍ യന്ത്രക്കൈ ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് പൈലറ്റില്ലാ എസ്.എസ് അലന്‍ ബീനിനെ പിടിച്ചെടുത്തത്. അപ്പോളോ 12ലെ സഞ്ചാരിയായിരുന്ന അലന്‍ ബീന്‍ ചന്ദ്രനില്‍ നടന്നിട്ടുള്ളയാളാണ്. 2018ല്‍ മരിച്ച അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സ്മരണയിലാണ് സിഗ്നസ് NG 12 ചരക്കുപേടകത്തിന് അലന്‍ ബീന്‍ എന്ന പേരിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. അദ്ദേഹം വരച്ച ബഹിരാകാശ കാഴ്ച്ചകളുടെ മനോഹര ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ ഏറെ പ്രസിദ്ധമാണ്

നിന്നുള്ള ചില പഠനങ്ങളെന്ന് ഇന്ത്യൻ ബഹിരാകാശ ഗവേഷണ സംഘടനയുടെ (ഇസ്രോ) മുൻ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ ഐഎഎൻഎസിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.ബഹിരാകാശ സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ തന്നെ സങ്കീർണ്ണമാണ്. ലാൻഡർ വിക്രമിനു
സംഭവിച്ചതുപോലെ അതിൽ കൂടുതൽ സങ്കീർ‌ണതകൾ ചേർ‌ക്കരുത്. ഉദാഹരണത്തിന് ഏകീകൃതമായി പ്രവർ‌ത്തിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന നാല് ത്രോട്ടിൽ എൻജിനുകൾ സാങ്കേതികമായി വലിയ വെല്ലുവിളിയാണ്. ഇത്തരമൊരു
സാഹചര്യത്തിലാണ് അഞ്ചാമത്തെ എൻജിൻ കൂടി ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയതെന്ന് പേരു വെളിപ്പെടുത്താതെ ഐ‌എ‌എൻ‌എസിനോട് സംസാരിച്ച ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥൻ പറഞ്ഞത്.
സെപ്റ്റംബർ 7 ന് ലാൻഡർ ചന്ദ്രന്റെ ദക്ഷിണ ധ്രുവമേഖലയിൽ സോഫ്റ്റ് ലാൻഡിങ് നടത്തുമ്പോൾ നിയന്ത്രണം നഷ്ടപ്പെടുകയും ഇടിച്ചിറങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഇതോടെ ആശയവിനിമയ ബന്ധങ്ങൾ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു.
ജിഎസ്എൽവി-എംകെ മൂന്നാമൻ (ജിയോസിൻക്രണസ് സാറ്റലൈറ്റ് ലോഞ്ച് വെഹിക്കിൾ) റോക്കറ്റ് ഈ ദൗത്യത്തിനായി ലഭ്യമാണെന്ന് നേരത്തെ അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ ബഹിരാകാശ പേടകം രൂപകൽപന ചെയ്യുന്നത്
ശക്തമായ സിംഗിൾ എൻജിനാക്കാമായിരുന്നു. അഞ്ച് എൻജിനുകൾ ഒഴിവാക്കാമായിരുന്നു.ഇത്തരത്തിലുള്ള ഒരു ചാന്ദ്ര ലാൻഡറിന് 3,500 ന്യൂട്ടൺ (എൻ) എൻജിൻ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണം. ഏകോപിച്ച് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന നാല്
ത്രോട്ടിൽ ചെയ്യാവുന്ന എൻജിനുകൾ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുന്നതിലെ സങ്കീർണ്ണത ഇത് ഇല്ലാതാക്കുമായിരുന്നു. മറ്റ് രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ പേടകങ്ങൾ ചന്ദ്രനിൽ ഇറങ്ങുന്നതിന് ശക്തമായ സിംഗിൾ എൻജിൻ ആണ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നത്.
ചാന്ദ്ര ഉപരിതലത്തിൽ ടച്ച്ഡൗൺ ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് മുൻപ് സിംഗിൾ എൻജിൻ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ലാൻഡർ സോഫ്റ്റ് ലാൻഡിങ് നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു.
അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അഭിപ്രായത്തിൽ മിഷൻ പ്രൊഫൈൽ യഥാർഥ പ്ലാനിൽ നിന്ന് മാറ്റങ്ങൾക്ക് വിധേയമായി എന്നാണ്. രണ്ട് ടൺ ഭാരം വഹിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന ജിഎസ്എൽവി-എംകെ II ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ചന്ദ്രയാൻ -2 ബഹിരാകാശ
പേടകവും ലാൻഡറിനൊപ്പം വിക്ഷേപിക്കാനായിരുന്നു പദ്ധതി എന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
