Tribute to Shane Warne: A Genius Enigma Who Captured Imaginations and Headlines on and off the field
The entire cricketing world along with fans had chills down the spine after the news of Shane Warne’s untimely demise broke on the internet. People found it hard to believe that the spin wizard has left so soon due to a ‘suspected’ heart attack in Thailand, as per the statements released by his official team.
It is known for all that Warne had an absolutely illustrious career where he remained a nightmare for batters during his prime days. Having scalped 708 Test wickets, he remained an all-time great and certainly troubled a few batters more than the others in his fruitful career. Talking of the same, he dismissed Alec Stewart of England 14 times in Test cricket followed by Nasser Hussain, 11 times.

The next one in this list is Ashwell Price of South Africa whom the leg spinner dismissed 11 times, the same as that of Hussain. Prince is being followed by Mike Atherton who was trapped by Warne 10 times in his Test career. In the same line, the Australian legends trapped Graham Thorpe, Mark Boucher, Steve Harmison, and Ashley Giles nine times each in the Test history.
As soon as Warne passed away, the cricket fraternity came in numbers to pay tribute to the legend, and the greatest skipper of his nation, Ricky Ponting also came in to offer his prayers.

Shane Warne Passed Away On March 4 Due To A Suspected Heart-Attack In Thailand And More Cricket News
Former Australian cricketer, Shane Warne, passed away on March 4th due to a suspected heart attack. While there was not much information on his passing initially, there have been further details revealed since the cricketer’s demise less than 24 hours ago. Reportedly, four of Warne’s friends tried their hardest to resuscitate him to no avail. The cricketer was at his villa in Koh Samui, Thailand for a planned three-month vacation at the time of his death.
According to the Thai police, Warne along with his three other friends was staying in a private villa. When the cricketer was late in his arrival for a planned outing, one of his friends went to inquire about him and discovered that the cricketer had suffered from a heart attack. He then proceeded to do CPR on him before the medical staff arrived.
“The friend did CPR on him and called an ambulance,” Chatchawin Nakmusik, an officer with the Bo Put police said according to India Today.
The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will commence on 26th March 2022. And, ahead of the hugely awaited Indian T20 League, South African Test skipper Dean Elgar has asked his players not to take part in the IPL.
Elgar said that he received a call from the representative at Cricket South Africa (CSA) regarding the player’s availability for South Africa’s series against Bangladesh. The series between the two sides will conclude only on 12th April 2022. And, Elgar added that the players need to brief CSA whether they will offer their services for the South African Test side or play in the IPL.
India and Sri Lanka who are currently in the middle of playing the first Test match at Mohali, took the field on Day 2 wearing black armbands in remembrance of the late Australian cricketer, Shane Warne, who passed away on March 4th aged 52. Warne reportedly died of a suspected heart attack. The legendary cricketer was at his villa in Thailand at the time of his untimely death.
