Punjab Kings vs Rajasthan Royals - 52nd Match of IPL 2022, Predicted Playing XIs & Stats Preview

Rajasthan Royals were the title winners in the very first season of IPL. However, they have not been able to repeat that success again. They have failed to qualify for the playoffs in the last three seasons. Earlier, they lost in the eliminator in their comeback season in IPL 2018. On the other hand, Punjab Kings who haven’t won the trophy yet finished sixth in the points table last season. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has scored the most runs (529) in the clashes between the two teams in the IPL. He is followed by KL Rahul (490), Shaun Marsh (409), and Ajinkya Rahane (373). Among the bowlers, Piyush Chawla has taken the most wickets (14) followed by Siddharth Trivedi (11). Arshdeep Singh, James Faulkner and Mohammed Shami have taken 10 wickets each.

Both the teams last met in the 32nd match of IPL 2021 and it was a thriller of a game. RR batted first and posted a massive score of 185 runs in 20 overs with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mahipal Lomror scoring 49 and 43 runs respectively. Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 5/32 in 4 overs. In the run-chase, KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal added 120 runs for the opening partnership as PSBK looked destined for a comfortable victory. With just four runs needed off the last over, Kartik Tyagi bowled a brilliant over to concede just one run as PBKS shockingly lost the match by two runs.
