In such a situation, people now have to meet their water needs by reaching stepwells and hand pumps. Of these two, 31 to 33 MLD of water is reaching Shimla city which requires 40 to 45 MLD. The water in the water sources has reached its lowest level, so now only rain is expected to rain soon so that the water requirement of the city can be met.
