കോഴിക്കോട് കുതിരവട്ടം മാനസികാരോഗ്യ കേന്ദ്രത്തിലെ 85 രോഗവിമുക്തര്‍ ഉറ്റവര്‍ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട നിലയില്‍ കേന്ദ്രത്തില്‍ തുടരുന്നതായി റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് .ഏറ്റെടുക്കാന്‍ ആളില്ലാതെ രോഗം മാറിയിട്ടും രോഗികളായി തുടരേണ്ട അവസ്ഥയിലാണ് ഇവര്‍. 16 അന്യസംസ്ഥാനക്കാരെ ഒഴിച്ച് നിര്‍ത്തിയാല്‍ ബാക്കിയുള്ളവരെല്ലാം മലയാളികള്‍.ഡിസ്ചാര്‍ജ് അദാലത്ത് പോലെയുള്ള പരിപാടി സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച് ചിലരെ സന്നദ്ധ സംഘടനകളും മറ്റും ഏറ്റെടുക്കുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും മറ്റ് പലരും ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ തന്നെ കഴിഞ്ഞ് കൂടുകയാണെന്ന് ആശുപത്രി വൃത്തങ്ങള്‍ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടുന്നു. ഒരിക്കല്‍ മാനസിക രോഗം പിടിപെട്ടാല്‍ അവരെ പോതുഷല്യമായി കരുതി ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയാണ് ബന്ധുക്കള്‍ .മനസ്സുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട പ്രധാന രോഗമടക്കം രണ്ടര മൂന്ന് മാസത്തെ ചികിത്സകൊണ്ട് പൂര്‍ണമായും സാധാരണ നിലയിലേക്കെത്തിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയുന്നതാണ്. ചിലര്‍ക്ക് മരുന്നുകള്‍ തുടരേണ്ടി വരുമെന്ന് മാത്രം. പക്ഷെ ഒരിക്കല്‍ മാനസിക രോഗം വന്നാല്‍ എല്ലാ കാലത്തും അവര്‍ മനോരോഗിയായിരിക്കുമെന്ന മനോഭാവമാണ് ബന്ധുക്കള്‍ അടക്കമുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക്. ഇതോടെ പലര്‍ക്കും രോഗികളോടൊപ്പം ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ തന്നെ കഴിയേണ്ടി വരുന്ന സാഹചര്യമുണ്ടാകുന്നുവെന്ന് ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടവര്‍ പറയുന്നു.

ऑस्ट्रेलिया : हत्यारे को कोर्ट ने भेजा 'पागलों के अस्पताल' !
पंजाब केसरी टीवी पर इस समय बड़ी ख़बर ने दस्तक दी है। आस्ट्रेलिया में कत्ल किए गए पंजाबी नौजवान मनमीत अलीशेर के दोषी एन्थनी ओ डोनोहीऊ को कोर्ट ने फॉरेंसिक सज़ा सुनाई है। कोर्ट ने हत्यारे को जेल भेजने की जगह 10 वर्ष के लिए मेंटल अस्पताल भेज दिया है। शुक्रवार को आस्ट्रेलिया की अदालत ने एन्थनी ओ डोनोहीउ को बस ड्राइवर मनमीत अलीशेर का कत्ल करने और अन्य 14 लोगों को नुक्सान पहुँचाने की कोशिश का दोषी ठहराया था। एन्थनी की मानसिक स्थिति को देखते हुए अदालत ने हुक्म दिया है कि उसे सख़्त निगरानी में १० वर्षों के लिए ब्रिसबेन के 'द पार्क मेंटल हैल्थ फैसीलिटी' में रखा जाए। डाक्टरों का कहना है कि वह सारी उम्र मानसिक रोगी ही रहेगा, उसके ठीक होने की उम्मीद बेहद कम है।
