  • Hackers prime target Health Care sector

Cyber security threats are more frequent, sophisticated and costly. The Cost of a Breach is increasing day by day. By 2025 it is to cost $10.5 trillion – 15% growth year over year. Attackers haven’t wasted any time capitalizing on the rapid move to hybrid work. Every day, cybercriminals and nation-states alike have improved their targeting, speed and accuracy as the world adapted to working outside the office.

Hackers are very persistent and resourceful. They are constantly learning and evolving their techniques. This makes them a formidable adversary, even for countries with advanced cybersecurity capabilities like Israel. Israel has proved to be one of the leading countries in the robustness of its cyber security systems and its commitment towards Cyber Iron Dome. Nobody can deny their commitment to this cause and today nearly one-fifth of investment in Cyber Security finds its way into Israel.

  • Open source enables new capabilities and improves the efficiency of a project

We have learnt how data transmission and transactions became critical, as consumers dramatically increased their use of online services for things like shopping, healthcare and entertainment. Businesses rapidly adapted to this changing behaviour and the market uncertainties that came with it. The ability to quickly pivot in response to rapid change under very tight timelines was once almost unimaginable, but companies that are data-driven thrived. A study by Tableau and YouGov among IT decision-makers in Singapore, Australia, India and Japan, found that 82% of data-driven companies derived critical advantages during the pandemic by making faster strategic decisions and by making their businesses more agile. Rapid technological innovation works best when data is easily accessible, and enterprises are best served when they adopt modern technologies like open source database software.

In a Red Hat survey, 52% of Asia-Pacific respondents said they use open source databases, highlighting the prominence of open source in the region. Unlike proprietary databases, open source databases enable developers to ‘fail fast’, a concept in DevOps and agile, whereby developers work with small increments of code that allow them to detect problems early and fix them while still in development. Open source databases enable developers to rapidly try new capabilities that speed innovation and improve the efficiency of their projects.

  • Geotagging

Geotagging is the process of adding geographic coordinates to media based on the location of a mobile device. Geotags can be applied to photos, videos, websites, text messages, and QR codes, or other contextual information. Geotagging provides helpful insight into consumer activity. By using geotags the device can analyze where and how consumers interact with their brands and organizations can provide specialized offers and messaging.

With growing concerns over privacy and data security, a rising trend of anti-geotagging is observed on social media platforms. Many have stopped geotagging their pictures and posts, largely due to privacy concerns, but also because of the changing cultural significance of location -sharing in public.

  • Malicious Links sent via. Emails.

Criminals are using a simple tactic to send malicious links, and it's working. They are embedding malicious links in images in emails. When the recipient opens the email, the image loads and the malicious link gets activated. It is a straightforward tactics to try and direct victims to phishing links - but the bad news is that it appears to be working. This can lead to malware infection, data theft, or other problems.

Usually, hackers would draft elaborate email trying to convince the victims to click on a link found at the bottom of the message. These emails would either tell the recipients they urgently needed to download an antivirus or cancel a pending transaction that will leave them broken, or something similar.

  • Hackers targeting EV changing stations

#Electricvehicle chargers are the next target for job creation in India. The Indian government has set a goal of installing 500,000 electric vehicle chargers by 2030, and this will require a significant investment in human capital.

Last year, global sales for electric vehicles increased by 60% worldwide and one in every seven passenger cars purchased globally was an EV. In contrast, just five years earlier, only one in every 70 cars bought was an electric vehicle. In India, EV sales hit 1.17 million units in FY2023 which reflects the adoption fervour.

Consumer demand for EVs is at an all-time high, but the growth of this sector may mean unprecedented security challenges. Experts predict that the EV Chargers pose an unprecedented risk.

  • Hash code Fraud

Hash code fraud is a new type of cybercrime that is becoming increasingly common. The hash code fraud’ through which hackers hack their target’s phone and steal personal data to commit financial fraud.

In hash code fraud, cybercriminals send victims a text message or email that appears to be from a legitimate source, such as a bank or credit card company. The message will often state that the victim's account has been suspended or that there is suspicious activity on their account.

The message will then direct the victim to a website that looks like the website of the legitimate company. On this website, the victim will be asked to enter their personal information, including their name, address, phone number, and credit card number. Once the victim has entered their information, the cybercriminals will use it to commit financial fraud.

  • The Spyware Industry Continues to Thrive ...!!

The Global Spyware Industry Continues to Thrive. Spyware and digital forensics technologies are being used for political repression around the world. These software can remotely infiltrate the most intimate spaces of a target’s digital life to steal their information and secrets.

Spyware is malicious software that enters a user's computer, gathers data from the device and user, and sends it to third parties without their consent. Governments in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, are believed to have spyware capabilities developed by “their own intelligence agencies rather than private military contractors.

Ongoing high demand for intrusion technology contributes to the resilience of the commercial spyware and digital forensics market. Even if one supplier is sanctioned, there is sufficient financial motivation for other suppliers to fill in the gap. As the adoption of Spyware increases the market has pegged to reach $12 billion .

  • India's Mobile Revolution: The Rise of Made-In-India Smartphones

All major global tech companies, including Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, and others, have established smartphone manufacturing facilities in India. These companies are not just aiming to capture a sizable share of the second-largest smartphone market in the world but also widening their profit margins by leveraging on the incentive schemes offered by the Indian government to local manufacturers.

According to Counterpoint Research, the value of the Made-in-India smartphones shipped during 2022 increased an impressive 34% YoY. The rise in the value of made-in-India smartphone shipments is mostly driven by a local upward trend in premiumization, along with an increase in premium smartphone exports, particularly from Apple.

India has experienced a sharp rise in the demand for premium smartphones in recent years. Apple, Inc. has been dominating the premium smartphone segment in India for the last few years. Interestingly, the shipments of made-in-India iPhones grew a strong 65% YoY by volume and 162% YoY by value.

  • Embedded finance

#Embeddedfinance is indeed poised to bring a new revolution in the #financialservices industry. Embedded finance refers to the integration of financial services into non-financial products or services, such as shopping apps, social media platforms, and ride-sharing apps. It allows customers to access financial services seamlessly and conveniently within the context of their daily lives.

While embedded finance is not a new concept, lately, a stronger focus on connectivity and integration has uncovered how banks can bring the benefits of an embedded ecosystem to their customers. While some leading banks are already developing their future embedded finance strategies, others are yet unsure of where to begin. By integrating financial services into non-financial products or services, banks can offer a more convenient and seamless customer experience, which can increase customer loyalty and retention.

One of the biggest advantages of embedded finance is that it provides a more personalized and relevant customer experience. By integrating financial services into non-financial products, companies can leverage customer data to provide tailored financial products and services that meet the specific needs and preferences of each individual customer. This, in turn, can help to increase customer loyalty and retention.

  • Impacts of AI on cybersecurity

#ArtificialIntelligence and #MachineLearning have both negative and positive effects on cybersecurity. AI algorithms use training data to learn how to respond to different situations. They learn by copying and adding additional information as they go along.

According to a report by Juniper Research, the use of AI for fraud detection and prevention is expected to save businesses $11 billion annually by 2023.

Key Challenges faced from Cybersecurity today are:

Attacks are becoming more and more dangerous despite the advancements in cybersecurity. The main challenges of cybersecurity include:

Geographically-distant IT systems—geographical distance makes manual tracking of incidents more difficult. Cybersecurity experts need to overcome differences in infrastructure to successfully monitor incidents across regions.

Manual threat hunting—can be expensive and time-consuming, resulting in more unnoticed attacks.

Reactive nature of cybersecurity—companies can resolve problems only after they have already happened. Predicting threats before they occur is a great challenge for security experts.

Hackers often hide and change their IP addresses—hackers use different programs like Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Proxy servers, Tor browsers, and more. These programs help hackers stay anonymous and undetected.

  • Generative AI

Generative #artificialintelligence describes algorithms (such as ChatGPT) that can be used to create new content, including audio, images, text, videos, code or synthetic data.

#Machinelearning is a type of artificial intelligence. Through machine learning, practitioners develop artificial intelligence through models that can “learn” from data patterns without human direction. Whereas, the Generative AI integrated with the right customer processes will improve customer experience.

The most important thing is, making AI stronger is Data science, that is going to propel businesses into the future. Data insights help businesses learn more about customers and their behaviour. Through employing IoT devices, gathering granular process data, providing predictive analytics, and more, data science offers organizations a unique perspective – enabling them to construct accurate trend-models and use them as the foundation for building disruptive software.

While the term generative AI is often associated with #ChatGPT and deep fakes, the technology was initially used to automate the repetitive processes used in digital image correction and digital audio correction. Generative AI can produce fast, personalized customer communications based on historical data and customer interactions.

Once a generative AI algorithm has been trained, it can produce new outputs that are similar to the data it was trained on. Because generative AI requires more processing power than discriminative AI, it can be more expensive to implement.

Generative AI can do more than generate images and text. With the help of a quantum boost, it can generate novel solutions to complex business problems. Quantum computing is 1,000 times faster than what we’re used to right now. What this means is that with the speed of quantum computing, what currently requires a day can be completed in mere seconds! Moreover, quantum computing removes depe

  • SPs eyeing revenue from digital business models

A report finds, over 4.66 billion people on the internet and 4.2 billion on social media, businesses are eyeing a pie of the large customer base. Whether a start-up or a global conglomerate, everyone wants to generate revenue from their website, mobile app, and social media channels.

However, it is important to understand the type of revenue model that suits your products and services before choosing one. It is also important to execute the model in the right manner for maximum ROI. A well-defined revenue model helps your business operate efficiently, remain competitive in the market, and deliver higher profits.

When leaders think about how to generate the revenue model, it is a crucial element of a business plan. CXOs are exploring adopting Affiliate referral (CPA): By creating a pool of online influencers to market and sell your products for a small fee per sale.

This is a popular win-win method both for the company and the influencer. When someone clicks a link on the influencer’s blog, they land on the company’s website, which is tracked through affiliate marketing software. Even if the sale does not happen right away, the influencer gets paid for driving customers to the merchant site within a predefined number of days.

Second most important thing is investment into Edge computing , which enables low-latency data processing at the edge of the network, where data is generated. This allows data to be processed closer to the source, reducing the need to send large amounts of data to the cloud for processing. By processing data closer to the source, real-time decision-making based on the data becomes possible.

Most importantly, digital business models employ and rely on technologies that not only deliver better products and services but also provide personalized and meaningful customer experiences.

  • 5G is much expected to drive revenue growth

We are clearly witnessing the growth momentum of the Cloud gaming, enterprise and industrial deployments gaining a fast traction. The Indian gaming and esports sector has witnessed tremendous growth over the past few years, and there is no doubt that this growth will skyrocket even more in the years to come.

Industry estimates predict that the number of online gaming users in India is poised to grow from 481 Mn in 2022 to over 657 Mn by 2025. At the same time, the Esports ad revenues are growing at around the same rate and will pass a quarter of a billion dollars in 2023.

At the same time, research from the Ericsson Mobility Report team provides encouraging evidence for communication service providers (CSPs) worldwide by identifying a correlation between 5G uptake and revenue growth. Flattening revenues have been a challenge for service providers in all parts of the world, often impacting network investment decisions as part of their business growth strategies, known as ‘monetization’ in the industry.

The report highlights a positive revenue growth trend since the beginning of 2020 in the top 20 - 5G markets - accounting for about 85 percent of all 5G subscriptions globally - that correlates with increasing 5G subscription penetration in these markets.

The expert outlines, the link between 5G uptake and revenue growth in the top 20 - 5G markets underlines that not only is 5G a game changer, but that early adopters will benefit from it. What is particularly encouraging about this is that while 5G is still at a relatively early phase, it is growing fast with proven early use cases and a clear path to medium and long-term use cases.

As expected, Enhanced Mobile Broadband is the main early use case for 5G, driven by increasing geographical coverage and differentiated offerings. More than one billion 5G subscriptions are currently active across some 230 live commercial networks globally.

  • Rising of LLM Chatbots

With the advent of LLM (large language models)-based chatbots and virtual assistants, customers can now interact with businesses in a more natural and conversational manner. This has been a significant step forward in providing a better customer experience throughout the customer journey. As a result, LLMs have become a go-to solution for companies looking to enhance their customer support, sales and marketing efforts.

First came the large language models (LLM), and then came the chatbots, or LLM chatbots, if you may call them – the likes of ChatGPT, Bard, Ernie, Claude and others.

The battle for AI supremacy has already begun, with OpenAI and Microsoft leading the race to develop next-generation AI models integrated across many products and services. This includes Bing Search, Bing Chat, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office 365. Similarly, Google has also started experimenting with its conversational AI chatbot, Bard, powered by its large language model, LaMDA. However, this is expected to be launched in a phased manner or accessible to select groups only.

While Google, Microsoft, and now Baidu are at it, it is only a matter of time before others join the race, especially those who have already built large language model capabilities, including Amazon, Huawei, AI21 Labs, and LG AI Research, NVIDIA and others.

This highlights the growing reliance on AI to enhance customer experience and streamline interactions. With chatbots becoming increasingly human-like in their conversations, there are numerous opportunities for businesses to use this technology to improve marketing strategies, deliver personalized services and generally drive efficiencies.

LLMs influenced by ChatGPT can help organisations display their material to clients in a more engaging way by adding various conversational styles and content tones.

  • New tricks to deliver phishing attacks

Cyber criminals are trying new methods to help ensure phishing attacks are successful. The phishing emails infect victims with malware -- and they're doing so by experimenting with a new method of delivering the malicious payload. India has become one of the most frequently targeted countries for ransomware attacks this year.

As per the report from Proofpoint, there's been a rise in cyber attackers attempting to deliver malware using OneNote documents, a digital notebook signified by .oneextensions that is part of the Microsoft 365 office applications suite.

The question is why is phishing so favourite among black hats?

Because it plays as what has been often described as cybersecurity’s “weakest link”. The 2022 DBIR revealed, 82% of breaches involved the human element, and that largely means employees being duped into clicking on malicious links and diving into fraudulent sites.

That's why it’s important that all companies know how to spot some of the most common phishing scams if they are to protect their corporate information. It’s also crucial that their employees are familiar with some of the most common types of techniques that malicious actors use to pull off these scams.

After all, they are the ones on the front line. However, it’s unfair to put all the blame on humans as weak security measures account for much of the exploits that slip through. A person can’t click on what’s not there, so email security platforms, digital risk protection, and anti-phishing solutions are a key element. However, you can’t defend against what you don’t understand.

Researchers warn that it's likely these campaigns have a high rate of success if the emails aren't blocked -- and that more cyber-threat groups are likely to adopt this technique to successfully deliver phishing and malware campaigns.

  • Robots Vs cobots

Cooperative mobile robots (otherwise known as cobots), provide less risk to human safety than traditional robots and are better suited for environments that require adaptability. They offer flexibility for fluctuating work environments that traditional robots can't match. Deployment for a cobot solution is typically less involved than the traditional robot.

Cobots, just like traditional industrial robots, consist of a mechanical arm that can be programmed to perform various tasks in the factory setting such as material handling, assembly, process tasks, quality inspection and packaging. This allows its human co-worker to focus on other tasks that require greater dexterity and cognitive abilities than the cobot which focuses on repetitive tasks.

There are a wider set of use cases and a larger group of users can be considered for collaborative applications. This versatility renders cobots better candidates than traditional robots for production automation in the case of small or medium businesses.

As their capabilities evolve, they will become responsible for even more complex tasks requiring tightly interacting and cobots, collaborating both with humans or other autonomous systems while solving to avoid detrimental incidents. Furthermore, many AI systems will exist solely as software, for example, in the cloud, acting as an AI partner assisting the user whenever interacting with a connected device or system.

More recently, collaborative robots stepped into the ring as a challenger to conventional robots. They might look similar to some conventional industrial robots, but they are lighter and easier to use. Companies have started adopting cobots at an impressive rate.

Today, more and more manufacturers are exploring how cobots can revolutionize their organization’s operations by boosting efficiency. However, too many manufacturers are merely investing in cobots and hoping for automatic returns-on-investment, with oft

  • Adoption of Metaverse, long miles to go

The #metaverse represents the next step in the evolution of online interaction. Prior to the COVID-19 epidemic, online communities had already begun to displace their in-person counterparts. Now we are witnessing most of the enterprises insisting on the on-premise work or hybrid work style. Virtual style of working fever is getting washed off.

The metaverse, a modern technological marvel, offers a great virtual location for collaborative online activities. The popularity of these digital gatherings is rising rapidly because of the numerous mind-blowing benefits it offers. With this, individuals can create their own metaverse platforms for hosting events and discussing company growth plans. However, everyone prefers physical interaction, whereas traveling or physical presence is the bottleneck.

Metaverse gaming stands out as the most exciting and original of the current crop of business concepts. Extreme expansion is possible by 2023 and if you're a new company or an entrepreneur with lofty goals then the Concepts for games set in the metaverse may prove ideal.

The NASSCOM released a study with McKinsey & Company as knowledge partners, titled “Metaverse – Prepare to win” states that, while at-scale Metaverse adoption is likely to be 8-10 years away, and majority implementations are at POC or MVP stage, the space is witnessing strong early adoption. Enterprise Metaverse adoption maturity trends are similar to AI trends back in 2017.

In a survey conducted by McKinsey & Company, 57% CXOs in 2022 have Metaverse initiatives underway, both long- and short-term, compared to a similar survey conducted on AI adoption maturity in 2017.

Enterprises are starting to implement metaverse use-cases across the value chain. By 2030, sectors such as retail, manufacturing, media, healthcare, telecom, professional services and banking are likely to be major spend drivers of enterprise use cases in metaverse.

  • Real-time Location Tracking

Can any technology/ software locate your exact location by the help of your simple picture? Don’t worry the technology is readily available. Most important is to avoid clicking on SMS/WhatsApp links from unknown sources. This may give access to the information available in your mobile device. So stay Vigilant.

Real-time location tracking is used in many ways today. Businesses use it to keep track of delivery trucks and employees. People use it to keep track of their children or pets while they are out exploring the world. It can also be used for safety when traveling or on vacation.

There are many other uses for real-time location tracking as well. Real-time location tracking can also be used for entertainment, like keeping track of a favourite sports team or finding out where your favourite band plays next on tour.

There are different types of real-time location tracking. It includes tracking with live GPS, mobile phone numbers, and Google maps.

The most common real-time location tracking is done with a GPS. This type of real-time location tracking is accurate and does not rely on mobile phone numbers.

Another form of real-time location tracking uses mobile phone numbers instead of GPS. This form of monitoring uses the mobile network provider's infrastructure to determine the whereabouts and location of a subject. The information is then sent to a server that can determine the issue's location based on cell towers and cellular signals. This form of real-time location tracking has been dramatically enhanced in recent years because mobile phone providers are now offering this service.

The third type of real-time location tracking relies on Google maps sharing information about the whereabouts and position of a subject being tracked. Information about the tracked topic is sent to Google, which then uses this information in conjunction with Google maps data to tell you where your loved ones are at any giv

  • eSIM market

According to a report, the #eSIMmarket will grow by “an impressive” 249% in the next four years, as consumers are set to increasingly adopt eSIM-enabled smartphones as they become widespread. A company’s valuation includes revenues from connected device and sensor eSIM module shipments (hardware), and platform revenues from connected device and sensor eSIM management.

For most people who already have a physical SIM in use, switching to an eSIM will not make much of a difference. However, those worried about the privacy and security of their SIMs can switch to eSIM to lock their identification with their smartphones in case of theft.

Apple is expected to launch such devices in markets across Europe this year where eSIM technology is seen as key to tackling the “time-consuming establishment of roaming agreements within the fragmented European telecommunications market”.

The trend shows that Apple is not all alone in abandoning physical SIMs. Manufacturers, such as Samsung and Google, are also working on equivalent eSIM-only smartphones running the Android OS.

Experts suggest that industry bodies must work closely with the Chinese government to develop specifications that allow eSIM support whilst addressing requirements for device monitoring and tracking.

eSIM is going to disrupt the telco market. According to the research, the widespread adoption of eSIM will shake up the telecoms market – and operators need to be prepared for the impact.

Despite operator concerns regarding the disruptive impact of eSIMs on existing business models, growing support from smartphone manufacturers will place additional pressure on operators. In response, service providers must support eSIM connectivity to avoid subscriber attrition as technology awareness increases.

One expected change will be a shakeup in operator sales channels. “There will no longer be a need for operators to own physical brick-and-mortar stores on the h
