हिमाचल प्रदेश में नई इलेक्ट्रिक व्हीकल नीति लागू की गई है। हिमाचल प्रदेश इलेट्रिक व्हीकल पालिसी 2022 आगामी पांच साल तक लागू होगी। इस नीति के अनुसार राज्य सरकार इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों को सड़क टोकन टैक्स में छूट देगी। हाईवे पर भी राज्य और बाहरी प्रदेशों के इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों से टोल टैक्स नहीं लिया जाएगा। इसके अलावा वाणिज्यिक परमिट फीस में केंद्रीय भूतल परिवहन एवं उच्च मार्ग मंत्रालय की अधिसूचना के अनुसार छूट दी जाएगी। यह छूट इस नीति के लागू होने की अवधि यानी पांच साल तक लागू होगी। सरकार ने इस नीति से 2025 तक 15 फीसदी इलेक्ट्रिक वाहन पंजीकृत करने का लक्ष्य तय किया है। इस नीति में चार मॉडल शहरों को चिन्हित किया है। ये शिमला, मंडी, बद्दी और धर्मशाला हैं।
