India के पूर्वोत्तर राज्य Assam में देश का पहला detention camp यानि नजरबंदी कैंप बनने जा रहा है। 30 जुलाई, 2018 को असम में National Register of Citizens (NRC) का फाइनल ड्रॉफ्ट जारी कर दिया गया। National Register of Citizens में 19 लाख लोग अपनी नागरिकता साबित नहीं कर पाए। NRC की फाइनल सूची का मकसद उन लोगों की पहचान करना था, जो 24 मार्च 1971 की कटऑफ तारीख के बाद बांग्लादेश से अवैध रूप से भारत आ गए थे . इन 'विदेशी' लोगों को नजरबंद करने के लिए गोवालपारा जिले में 2.5 हेक्टेयर जमीन में पहला डिटेंशन कैंप बन रहा है। #Assam #NRC #IllegalImmigrants

Assam NRC final list released: What next for those left out? | Economic Times
The updated final NRC, which validates bonafide Indian citizens of Assam, was out Saturday, with over 19 lakh applicants who failed to make it to the list staring at an uncertain future. A total of 3,30,27,661 people had applied to be included in the NRC. Of them, 3,11,21,004 have been included in the document and 19,06,657 excluded, a statement from the NRC State Coordinator's office said. Those who have been excluded from the National Register of Citizens have 120 days to appeal against it at Foreigners Tribunals. Watch this video to know more. (Text: PTI)
