Supply Chain needs to be more ‘Intelligent’ now
As per PWC, Today’s turbulence and volatility might be here to stay. As companies look to develop resilient responses to a continual series of shocks on both the supply and demand sides, many find the old approaches less and less effective. That’s because most global supply chains were engineered decades ago to manage stable, high-volume production by capitalizing on labour-arbitrage opportunities in low-cost countries such as China, India, and Vietnam. Speed, cost efficiency, and performance comprised the “magic triangle” of supply chain management.
Given the new reality, New research from Capgemini reveals that three-quarters of organizations have been impacted by closing facilities, supply chain disruptions, employee absence, and remote work in the past three years, and less than 20% of organizations feel equipped to handle the impacts of these changes.
Greater focus on sustainability, global socio-economic changes, and shifting consumer demands has meant that organizations are facing considerable disruption to their supply chains. In this context, leaders’ most pressing concerns are reducing Carbon emissions across all tiers of the supply chain (95%) and growing e-commerce volumes (90%). Around 92% of organizations surveyed said that the ongoing relocation of the global supply chain will impact them but only 15% are equipped to deal with this.
The Highlights of India Data on the Customer Experience Trends are:
1. 81% of organisations agree that faster order fulfilment time, such as the advent of quick commerce has high business impact.
2. According to 83% respondents moving from product to services or connected products i.e. repair, maintenance, remote monitoring, field services, customer support, and services has a high business impact.

SaaS - A Trillion Dollar opportunity
Customers utilise the #SaaSPlatform to get fresh insights from enormous amounts of different data, including historical and contemporary data. This technology is appropriate for running algorithms and analysing vast amounts of data to discover meaningful links, entities, and insights. Secondly, consumers in India estimate 60% of their interactions with businesses to take place online.
Additionally, 71% of Indians expect companies to accelerate digital initiatives. As the world quickly moves to a cloud-based environment, there is increased adoption of SaaS in the market. Top Indian companies include ZoHo, Freshworks, PostMan, Uniphore, LeadSquared and are already in the Unicorn club.
Going forward, there are few more SaaS companies who are expected to turn unicorns soon including #CleverTap, FarEye, Kissflow, Loginext and Yellow.ai and others in the race.
SaaS #startups in India have still managed to attract meaningful funding. As per a recent report, SaaS was the second-ranked segment in terms of the number of funding during H1 2022 with more than 90 Indian SaaS startups mopping up $1.76 billion. Indian SaaS startups have traditionally been more capital-efficient than their global counterparts, as per the report of Saas Bhoomi.
As hybrid work environments are the norm now, and B2B buyer preferences have moved to a digital-first approach irrevocably. A major driver of this growth has been the secular trend towards digitalization triggered by the pandemic. SaaS now comprises $600 billion of the $3 trillion global enterprise IT and communications spending market, and is expected to be worth $1.3 trillion by 2030.

Bridging The security Gap Through ‘Zero Trust’
Today, #datasecurity demands more attention than ever before and #ZeroTrust is a strategic approach to #cybersecurity that secures an organization by eliminating implicit trust and continuously validating every stage of a digital interaction.
There are three pillars of zero trust, and they are namely workforce, workloads and workplace – and their unique differentiations. Greater amount of risks are being addressed by each pillar of zero trust which includes:
1.Options for implementing each of the three zero-trust pillars.
2. Proposed maturity models to achieve zero trust for the workforce, workloads and the workplace.
Zero Trust security means that no one is trusted by default from inside or outside the network, and verification is required from everyone trying to gain access to resources on the network.
Enterprises must follow some key practices to safeguard their business at a time when identity has become the new perimeter. This added layer of security has been shown to prevent data breaches. It reduces risk by eliminating the attack surface: With a zero-trust approach, users connect directly to the apps and resources they need, never to networks. Direct user-to-app and app-to-app connections eliminate the risk of lateral movement and prevent compromised devices from infecting other resources.
Zero Trust is a framework for securing the IT infrastructure of the modern digital workplace. It uniquely addresses challenges faced by businesses, including securing remote workers, hybrid cloud environments, and ransomware threats.
The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team reported more than 2.12 Lakhs cybersecurity incidents this year (till February). In comparison, the CERT-In reported more than 14.02 Lakhs cyber security related incidents in total last year.

Moreover, some technologies are leveraged by cybercriminals to get better results. Cyberattacks are a threat to businesses of all sizes and in all industries. With cybercrime rising by 600% during the pandemic, businesses are more vulnerable than ever to the financial and reputational repercussions of cyberattacks. This makes it even more important for businesses and organizations to make cybersecurity a priority.
Global cybercrime costs are on the rise, increasing 15 per cent year over year. By 2025, it is estimated that cybercrime will cost businesses worldwide $10.5 trillion annually. With the global cost of cybercrime at $3 trillion in 2015, that’s more than a threefold increase over a decade. This represents the “greatest transfer of economic wealth in history. To put this into perspective, if the total of $6 trillion in cybercrime losses in 2021 were measured as if it were a country, this would be the world’s third-largest economy after the U.S. and China. A ransomware attack occurs when malicious software infects computers and restricts their access to files until a ransom is paid. It’s estimated that global ransomware damage costs will reach $20 billion in 2021, 57 times the amount in 2015. The ongoing push towards remote work and the acceleration of hiring plans in 2021 has exacerbated IT talent scarcity, especially for sourcing skills that enable cloud and edge, automation and continuous delivery, as per Gartner. IT executives cited talent availability as the main adoption risk factor for the majority of IT automation technologies (75%) and nearly half of digital workplace technologies (41%). Talent availability is cited as a leading factor inhibiting adoption among all six technology domains included in the survey – compute infrastructure and platform services, network, security, digital workplace, IT automation and storage and database. Despite talent challenges, infrastructure and operations and other IT leaders have increased the adoption of emerging technologies to drive innovation as organizations begin to recover from the pandemic.
Across all technology domains, 58% of respondents reported either an increase or a plan to increase emerging technology investment in 2021, compared with 29% in 2020. Furthermore, Infrastructure & Operations functions have witnessed a reduction in deployment timelines, with all technologies in deployment expected to reach adoption within the next six to 18 months. This indicates that organizations feel more comfortable directly deploying new technologies to accelerate growth, rather than relying on an extended observation period to develop the business case. Resilience and improving critical IT infrastructure are top priorities among Infrastructure & Operations and other IT leaders in 2021, according to the survey. As a result, they are prioritizing cloud deployments and investments in security technologies. In addition, infrastructure security is a significant priority for organizations as they tackle rising threats, particularly to endpoint devices in hybrid work environments. Many cybersecurity experts believe an incident should be considered cyberterrorism if it results in physical harm or loss of life, either directly or indirectly through damage or disruption to critical infrastructure. However, others believe physical harm is not a pre-requisite for classifying cyberattack as a terrorist event.
