The job market in the #Indianstartupecosystem is bleeding. It is credited to the continued issue of funding winter has forced Indian startups to leave thousands of employees out in the cold.
Despite being the fastest-growing economy in the ongoing financial year, India’s economy faces considerable risks this year and will slow down considerably. India’s domestic growth prospects remain robust, but economists feel that there is no escaping the cascading impact of the global economic slowdown, which could hurt various key segments growth.
A report states, in the first half of 2023, about 70 startups have laid off more than 17,000 employees as per data sourced from recruitment and staffing firm CIEL HR. Startups, which typically depend on external investments for growth, downsized after a slump in investor funding forced them to cut costs and conserve cash.

#Nanophotonics or nano-optics is a part of nanotechnology that investigates the behaviour of light on nanometer scales as well as interactions of nanometer-sized objects with light and the global market for nanophotonics is set to garner $ 200 billion by 2033. Nanophotonics – Combining Photonics and Nanotechnology is going to catalyse innovation.
Nanophotonics arose as a synthesis of three scientific fields: photonics, nanotechnology, and optoelectronics. Nanophotonics is the study of light contact with a nanometer-scale object. This technology is based on the principles of metal optics and Plasmonics. Metamaterials and near-field optics are two more principles on which this technology is based. It has numerous uses in science and technology, including solar energy, optical microscopy, bioimaging, and optical communication.
Many devices that utilize nanophotonics are made from dielectric or metallic structures, where the device is structured to enhance the light-matter interactions of interest. The foundation of nanophotonics is electromagnetic phenomena in materials.
Nanophotonics offers a multitude of promising avenues for many technologies by allowing the control of light on the nanoscale, especially in the areas of sensing, data, medicine and energy.
Nanophotonics may also play an important role in medicine, such as in the treatment of cancer. For instance, nanoparticles can be employed in cancer treatment: this entails illuminating nanoparticles that are adjacent to the cancerous region, resulting in a plasmonic excitation that produces heat, allowing the targeted destruction of the cancerous cells.
Moreover, nanophotonic device manufacturers are merging small-scale power electronics and transistors on a single chip to achieve larger bandwidth and faster data transmission speed. Biometric and facial authentication to curb cyber attacks
Most organizations switched to work from home hastily from last year due to the mayhem caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, often leaving the doors open for malicious elements to come in and infect the corporate resources. Research says nearly 3.1 million external attacks are on cloud user accounts. This data set represents companies in all major industries across the globe, including financial services, healthcare, public sector, education, retail, technology, manufacturing, energy, utilities, legal, real estate, transportation, and business services.
As work from home has increased by 5 times as compared to the pre-Covid days, cyberattacks have also surged by a whopping 300%. In most of the cases, cyberattacks were carried out by stealing user identities or exploiting the poor (or lack of) user authentication mechanisms. A report says, the US government reported a 3000% increase in identity theft attempts due to the Covid situation. The option of Biometrics-based authentication could be the ultimate solution, like usage of facial verification or fingerprint verification, that overcomes the limitations of typical OTP or push notifications-based authentication by essentially providing authentication based on “who you are”. It ensures absolute certainty before granting or denying access as hardly any tampering can be done to ‘Who you are’. However, the best practice would be continuous authentication – The way to go.
