Paribartan Heijau: Baijayant Panda Vows To Eliminate BJD
Voices at the BJP headquarters in Bhubaneswar cheered in unison when former MP Baijayant Panda, the newest member of the saffron party, reiterated that the people of Odisha desire a change. All the members of the Bharatiya Janata Party along with Panda’s supporters present at the welcome ceremony raised slogans of ‘Paribartan Heijau’ when Panda began his address at the party office.
Jay Panda targeted the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government over multiple issues starting from the chit fund scam, rising atrocities against women and girl children, the plight of farmers and the misutilisation of state exchequer by the ruling government in Odisha.
“So many politicians of the ruling-BJD are involved in several chit fund scams worth over Rs 20,000 crore. Lakhs of Odia families who had deposited their hard-earned money with the companies have lost everything. But still these corrupt leaders are given shelter, protected by the party,” he stated.

1. Baijayant Jay Panda, Former BJD Leader, Joins BJP Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls
2. Panda, who had a bitter falling out with the BJD chief Naveen Patnaik, had recently said that he is willing to join hands with anybody "committed to tackling the severe problems that Odisha now faces".
3.Baijayant Jay Panda, who quit Naveeen Patnaik's Biju Janata Dal (BJD) last year, joined the BJP on Monday.
4.Panda was welcomed into the party fold by Oil Minister Dharmedra Pradhan, BJP's prominent Odisha face. Soon after joining the party, Panda met BJP president Amit Shah.
"Nine months of introspection & widespread consultations w/colleagues & public. Grateful for support recd from all over. On auspicious #MahaShivratri I've decided to join @BJP4India & work under the leadership of @narendramodi Ji to serve Odisha & India to the best of my ability," Panda tweeted.

Jay Panda Refutes Allegations Of Pending Electricity Bills, Says “Biju Gunda Vahini” Behind Disturbances
Bhubaneswar: Refuting the allegations of pending electricity bills against him, former parliamentarian Baijayant Panda today stated that the Biju Janata Dal had already probed the allegations when he was in the party and found those untrue.
Panda also said that former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik’s name is being misused for ‘Biju Gunda Vahini’ to physically attack the political opponents.

Naveen Patnaik’s legislators demanded the arrest of former Biju Janata Dal MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda for allegedly flying low over the eco-sensitive Chilika lake, a day after the MP’s chopper was seized.
The BJD MLAs disrupted the assembly and then staged a dharna within its premises demanding the arrest of their former colleague for violating environmental norms. On Monday the Puri police had, acting on an FIR lodged by the Chilika Development Authority, seized the R-44 helicopter and locked the hangar it occupies.

Former Minister, Senior BJD Leader Damodar Rout Expelled From Party
Just days after alleging multiple instances of corruption in various departments of the State government, former minister & senior leader Damodar Rout was dismissed from the BJD today.
In pursuance to orders from party president Naveen Patnaik, Damodar Rout has been expelled from the BJD, informed party’s state secretary, Bijay Kumar Nayak through a press release.
Rout had recently created ripples in the political circle by alleging irregularities and scams in disbursal of Cooperative bank loans, Omfed, distribution of saplings & in the Health department.
Earlier today, Rout had praised Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik by calling him a good human being, a writer and an artist with a clean image and has greater exposure as compared to his counterparts in the country.
