Rahul Gandhi gets bail in defamation case filed by Ahmedabad bank
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was on Friday granted bail by a court here after he pleaded not guilty in a criminal defamation suit filed by Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank, in which Union Home Minister Amit Shah is one of the directors, and its chairman Ajay Patel. The defamation suit was filed by the bank against Gandhi after he alleged that it had swapped Rs 750 crore in scrapped currency with valid notes within five days of announcement of demonetisation on November 8, 2016.

2005 से पहले भारत में लोकतंत्र तो था लेकिन बस नाम का था। जनता को सरकार चुनने का अधिकार तो था लेकिन यह जानने का अधिकार नहीं था कि उसके द्वारा चुने गए प्रतिनिधि अपने वायदे पूरे कर रहे हैं या नहीं, जनता का पैसा जनता पर खर्च किया जा रहा है या नहीं ? तब सरकार सिर्फ नाम की ही सेवक थी। आज ही के दिन, 12 अक्टूबर 2005 को तत्कालीन यूपीए सरकार ने जनता को राइट टू इनफार्मेशन (RTI) यानी सूचना का अधिकार दिया। इसमें मिलने वाली जानकारियां खुद सरकार और उसके अधीन संस्थाओं द्वारा उपलब्ध करवाई जाती है न कि किसी प्राइवेट एजेंसी द्वारा। लेकिन आज आरटीआई को लेकर बुरी खबर आई है। ताजा रैकिंग में भारत चौथे नंबर से फिसल कर छठे नंबर पर पहुंच गया है। मनमोहन सिंह सरकार के समय भारत दूसरे नंबर पर था। इसी अधिकार के चलते यूपीए सरकार के अरबों रूपये के घोटाले उजागर हुए और अब इसी अधिकार से मिली जानकारियों से गुड गवर्नेंस का दावा करने वाली मोदी सरकार की मुसीबतें बढ़ती जा रही हैं ।

Addressing media at party HQ Randeep Surjewala said, "Demonetisation was the biggest fraud in the country since independence"
Key Points of Press Briefing
-11 District Cooperative Banks in Gujarat which are run by BJP leaders oversaw deposits worth of ₹14,300cr in just 5 days during Demonetisation.
-Demonetisation turned out to be the biggest scam. Instead of eradicating black mone, it has helped to turn black money into white.
-Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank (ADCB), where BJP President AmitShah is the Director, secured deposits worth ₹745.59cr of demonetized notes in just 5 days after PM Narendra Modi announced Demonetisation.
-Rajkot District Cooperative Bank got deposits worth ₹693.19cr of demonetized notes. Its chairman is Jayeshbhai Vitthalbhai Radadiya, who is a cabinet minister in Gujarat government.
-5 days after Demonetisation, all co-operative banks were banned from accepting demonetized notes with the pretense of preventing money laundering from them. But many cooperative banks run by BJP leaders had already received
deposits.
